There is no reliable one-size-fits-all Isolytic officer ranking in Star Trek Fleet Command. The strongest pick depends on what you are fighting: Group Armadas, Suliban hostiles, Wave Defense enemies, or players. This scenario-based tier list separates offensive bonuses from defensive ones and gives each officer’s actual target condition, so a specialist does not get mistaken for a universal top-tier crew member.
The tiers below are editorial labels based on abilities Scopely has described, not official Scopely rankings or independent combat tests. They reflect information available as of October 8, 2026.

How to read an Isolytic tier list
Use these labels only within the activity and target named for each officer:
- Core for the matchup: official ability information directly supports the officer or crew for that specific job.
- Strong specialist: the ability fits a narrower target or mode, but its value depends on the encounter and your other officers.
- Situational: the ability is relevant, but the available official information does not establish it as a leading choice against newer or broader alternatives.
These tiers do not compare every officer in the game. Scopely’s published material describes selected abilities, not a complete universal tier order. A listed ability percentage is not, by itself, proof that one crew will win more fights: target conditions, rank, activation timing, the rest of the crew, and the opponent’s Isolytic Defense all affect the result.

What Isolytic damage changes
Isolytic is an additional damage type that works alongside kinetic and energy damage. Scopely’s June 2023 Update 55 says it bypasses traditional mitigation and can be stopped only by Isolytic mitigation. The later calculation described in Scopely’s Help Center is a percentage of total standard damage after buffs and modifiers, divided by one plus the opponent’s Isolytic Defense. In practical terms, standard-damage bonuses can raise the damage from which Isolytic damage is calculated, while Isolytic Defense is a separate opposing stat that reduces it.
That is why an offensive Isolytic bonus and an Isolytic defensive ability belong in different comparisons. Ordinary armor, shield, or hull mitigation is not a substitute for Isolytic Defense against this damage type.

Best officers by activity and target
Group Armadas: FCM Armada crew — Core for the matchup
Scopely describes the FCM Armada crew of Mara Dalen, Zefram Cochrane, and FCM Data as a combined setup: shot boosts, Isolytic Cascade Damage, and Group Armada Isolytic Defense. Its March 2026 article says the completed team surpasses the prior shot-boost setup cited there. That makes the trio the clearest official Group Armada package in the available ability evidence; it is not evidence of a top crew in PvP, Wave Defense, or every Armada situation.
Zefram Cochrane is the crew’s named Isolytic damage specialist. Scopely reports 250% Isolytic Cascade Damage at rank 5 against Armadas, compared with 150% for Gwen DeMarco at rank 5 against Armadas. These are Scopely-published ability values and its stated comparison in the Group Armada context, not independent performance measurements or general damage multipliers. Evaluate the whole crew and your Armada needs rather than comparing those percentages in isolation.

Suliban hostiles: SNW Montgomery Scott — Strong specialist offense
After a September 2025 update, SNW Montgomery Scott’s Isolytic Cascade Damage focus is Suliban hostiles. Scopely’s July 2025 article had described a Flashpoint focus, so older descriptions may no longer match the current target. For Suliban fights, Scott is the documented offensive specialist; do not carry that tier placement over to other hostile groups.
Suliban survivability: SNW Black Ops M’Benga — Strong specialist defense
SNW Black Ops M’Benga provides Isolytic Defense against Suliban hostiles following the same September 2025 target change. Scopely’s August 2025 article had discussed his defense boost against Flashpoint hostiles. Treat him as a defensive option for the stated Suliban matchup, not as an Isolytic damage dealer or a general-purpose offensive pick.

Wave Defense against hostile Explorers: The Academy Doctor — Core for the matchup
The Academy Doctor’s Isolytic Cascade Damage ability applies against hostile Explorers in Wave Defense. Scopely’s May 2026 patch notes list the following rank progression:
| Rank | Isolytic Cascade Damage against hostile Explorers in Wave Defense |
|---|---|
| 1 | 200% |
| 2 | 260% |
| 3 | 330% |
| 4 | 400% |
| 5 | 500% |
Those values describe this ability and target condition only. They do not establish the Doctor as a universal hostile or PvP choice.

Wave Defense against hostile Interceptors: Chancellor Ake or Deidamia — Core for the matchup
Scopely’s May 2026 patch notes give both Chancellor Ake and Deidamia the same rank-scaled Isolytic Cascade Damage values against hostile Interceptors in Wave Defense:
| Rank | Chancellor Ake | Deidamia |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 200% | 200% |
| 2 | 260% | 260% |
| 3 | 330% | 330% |
| 4 | 400% | 400% |
| 5 | 500% | 500% |
The shared listed percentages do not show that the two officers deliver identical overall value. Choose between them based on your available ranks, roster, ability conditions, and which other officer you would give up for the slot.
PvP: Seven of Nine — Strong specialist, below deck
Scopely’s Voyager update describes a below-deck ability for Seven of Nine that increases Isolytic Damage in PvP. Keep the placement in the PvP category: a below-deck player-combat ability is not directly comparable to an on-ship PvE specialist’s hostile or Armada effect.
Broader PvE: Katheryn Janeway — Situational
Scopely introduced Katheryn Janeway with an Officer Ability that increases Isolytic damage against PvE. That makes her a broad PvE example, but the published description does not provide a specific hostile-class ranking or establish her relative value against newer specialists. Use the ability’s current in-game text and the encounter you intend to run before treating her as a top pick.
How to choose between officers for your roster
- Start with the mode and target. Separate player combat, Group Armadas, Wave Defense, and ordinary hostile grinding. For hostile grinding, identify the actual faction or ship class; an ability against Suliban hostiles or hostile Explorers is not automatically useful against another target.
- Decide whether the gap is offense or defense. Compare Isolytic Damage abilities with one another for damage output, and Isolytic Defense abilities with one another for protection. Do not rank M’Benga’s defensive role against an offensive percentage as if both measure the same job.
- Read the full ability condition and rank. Check the current in-game wording, required target, rank value, and trigger. A maximum-rank number may not represent what your roster can use, and the same published value does not guarantee the same crew performance.
- Account for timing and ship order. Scopely’s Help Center cautions that start-of-round calculations can resolve after those of a stronger ship when an officer is on a weaker ship; in that situation, the Isolytic effect may not activate until Round 2. Do not assume every ability adds damage immediately in Round 1.
- Compare the full crew and slot cost. Standard-damage buffs can influence the amount of Isolytic damage calculated, while other officers contribute different ship functions. For a Group Armada, for example, Scopely describes the FCM crew as combining shot boosts, Isolytic Cascade Damage, and Group Armada Isolytic Defense; replacing one officer means giving up that officer’s contribution.
- Recheck after updates. Ability targets can change. The 2025 shift of SNW Scotty and Black Ops M’Benga from Flashpoint focus to Suliban hostiles is a concrete reason to verify current ability text rather than rely on an older tier list.
Scopely’s officer guidance also notes that power is influenced by level, tier, and stats, and that abilities can affect different ship functions. A useful personal tier list should therefore record the mode, exact target, rank assumed, offensive or defensive role, activation timing, and crew slot cost—not just an officer name or percentage.
