Where do I go after Margit?
From Limgrave, follow the Guidance of Grace toward Stormveil. It points you toward a likely direction, not a mandatory route: you can explore elsewhere and return when you choose. Bandai Namco’s ELDEN RING How-To Guide Part 3 – Gameplay Overview (July 19, 2023) explains that guidance appears at Sites of Grace and on the map after you find a map fragment.

Once you reach the castle, the key early decision is whether to enter at Stormveil Main Gate or use Gostoc’s side passage. The route descriptions in Eldenpedia’s community-maintained Stormveil Castle page and the GameFAQs/GameSpot walkthrough are useful navigation references, rather than official confirmation of every item placement.
How do I get into Stormveil Castle?

How do I navigate the castle without losing the main route?
Stormveil is not a single corridor. Its route moves among cliffside approaches, ramparts and towers, courtyards, interior spaces, and optional lower sections. Paths can branch and loop back, and Sites of Grace provide recurring points from which to reorient. The GameFAQs/GameSpot walkthrough documents optional loot and side areas alongside the progression toward the boss.
- Choose an entrance. Start at Stormveil Main Gate or trace Gostoc’s side passage toward Stormveil Cliffside.
- Use the next landmark, not a guessed shortcut. As you move through the cliffside, rampart, tower, courtyard, and interior areas, check the map and note where a passage branches.
- Explore a branch at your own pace. Optional lower sections and loot are part of the castle’s exploration; if a detour stops feeling useful, return to the last familiar route or Site of Grace.
- Mark turns you want to revisit. Bandai Namco’s official gameplay guide describes map beacons and markers as navigation tools. Use them to flag an unexplored branch or a point you want to find again.
- Keep the Secluded Cell in mind. The walkthrough places this Site of Grace on the approach to Godrick. If you reach it, you are near the castle’s culminating fight, not at the end of every optional exploration opportunity.
If an encounter or section feels too difficult, the official guide recommends leaving a challenge and returning later. That is a valid way to handle Stormveil’s branches, rather than pushing forward simply to preserve a linear route.

Should I speak to NPCs before fighting Godrick?
Yes, if you want to hear the dialogue available during your visit. Bandai Namco’s official guide identifies NPC dialogue as the content players most commonly miss and cautions that some questlines auto-advance with game progression. Talk to the NPCs you encounter before moving on from the castle, and exhaust available dialogue if you want to be thorough.

Godrick the Grafted is the culmination of the castle route. The GameFAQs/GameSpot walkthrough places him after the Secluded Cell and lists a Great Rune and Remembrance among the rewards. After the fight, a passage from the arena continues north toward Lake-Facing Cliffs and the Liurnia region; the same walkthrough also notes optional post-boss interactions.
That northward passage is the onward travel route. Do not confuse it with the separate process of restoring a Great Rune: the route reference identifies the reward, but the path to restore it is a different destination and is not the passage to Lake-Facing Cliffs.
