Street Fighter 6 does not use one currency rule for every costume.

The short answer: which currency should you spend?
Choose Drive Tickets when the exact costume listing accepts them and you already have enough. They are vouchers earned from challenges or events, so using them avoids a direct currency purchase. Choose Fighter Coins when the item lists them as the price, when you want the immediate shop route, or when the costume has no Drive Ticket option.

How Fighter Coins and Drive Tickets work
Fighter Coins: the shop currency you buy
Fighter Coins are Street Fighter 6’s main currency for shop transactions. Capcom describes them as a currency generally purchased as needed for content. In practical terms, they are the direct paid route: you acquire coins, open the relevant shop entry, and confirm the item purchase.
The price attached to a costume can be time-, character-, or release-specific. Capcom’s December 1, 2023 announcement for the launch-roster Outfit 3 set listed 300 Fighter Coins per character. That is an official dated launch price, not a promise that every later outfit, platform, region, or future listing uses 300 coins.
Drive Tickets: earned vouchers
The official web manual defines Drive Tickets as “Vouchers that can be traded for content if held in large quantities. These can be acquired as rewards from challenges or events.” They are therefore an earned-currency route rather than a currency you normally buy directly for an individual transaction.
Having tickets is not enough by itself. The desired item must accept them, and you must meet the quantity shown in its listing. Capcom’s published material does not establish a universal Drive Ticket earning rate, a universal exchange rate for costumes, or a complete current catalog of ticket-eligible items. Treat the shop’s current price and eligibility label as authoritative.
Costume routes by outfit
Outfit 2: World Tour or shop for the launch roster
Capcom’s launch-roster Outfit 2 announcement described two acquisition routes:
- World Tour: meet the required conditions in the mode to unlock the outfit. The announcement notes that acquiring it this way requires an online connection.
- Shop: purchase the outfit with Fighter Coins.
This statement applies to the launch-roster announcement as written. Do not assume that every character added later has identical World Tour requirements or an identical shop listing. For a later character, check that character’s own entry rather than relying on the launch-roster rule.
Outfit 3: Fighter Coin purchase, not World Tour
Capcom France distinguishes Outfit 3 from Outfit 2: Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour. For the launch-roster Outfit 3 release announced on December 1, 2023, Capcom listed a price of 300 Fighter Coins per character.

That makes Outfit 3 a different decision from launch-roster Outfit 2. If you want Outfit 3, do not spend time searching World Tour for an unlock condition that the official description rules out. What the live shop listing can change
Street Fighter 6 content is delivered through regional and platform-specific storefronts, and shop contents can change. The following details can differ from one item or package to another:
- Whether the item accepts Fighter Coins, Drive Tickets, or only a gameplay unlock.
- The number of coins or tickets required.
- Whether the listing is for one character, a set, or a pass.
- Whether the character is in your edition or purchased separately.
- Availability by platform, region, release period, or pass year.
A screenshot, forum post, or old announcement can explain an earlier release without describing the listing you see now. Use historical prices as context, not as a substitute for the current in-game entry.
Fighter Coins vs. Drive Tickets: a practical comparison
| Question | Fighter Coins | Drive Tickets |
|---|---|---|
| How do you obtain them? | Generally purchased as needed for transactions. | Earned as rewards from challenges or events. |
| What do they represent? | The direct paid shop route. | An earned voucher balance. |
| Can they buy every costume? | No universal guarantee; eligibility is item-specific. | No universal guarantee; the listing must show a Drive Ticket option. |
| Best use case | You want an immediately available item whose listing uses coins. | The desired item accepts tickets and you prefer to spend earned currency. |
| Known official costume figure | 300 coins per character for the announced launch-roster Outfit 3 set on December 1, 2023. | No universal current costume price or earning rate has been established. |
| Main caution | A dated price may not apply to later items or regions. | Do not assume tickets work on an item unless its current listing says so. |
How to check before you spend
Use this procedure whenever you are comparing currencies for a particular character.
- Identify the exact item. Note the character name, outfit number, and whether the listing is an individual costume, a color option, or part of a bundle.
- Open the current in-game shop entry. Do not use a price from a different character or an old launch announcement as the final authority.
- Read the payment choices. Confirm whether the entry displays Fighter Coins, Drive Tickets, a World Tour condition, or more than one route.
- Check your balance and the required quantity. For tickets, make sure the item actually accepts them and that your balance meets the displayed requirement. For coins, check the real-money purchase step before confirming.
- Check ownership and edition requirements. A pass or costume cannot substitute for ownership of a character or the base game requirements stated by the listing.
- Compare against a pass only if it includes your target. Count the characters and costumes you would actually use, then compare that package with buying one outfit.
- Confirm region and platform. Store packages and bonus quantities can be tied to a particular storefront, console, or PC platform.
When a pass changes the calculation
Passes bundle characters and cosmetic content, so the choice is no longer simply “coins or tickets for one outfit.” You are comparing a single desired item with a package that may include content you do not need.
Character Passes
Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement says Character Passes include four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets. The base game is required separately. The exact characters and other contents differ among pass years, so the pass year matters when you read the product description.
Ultimate Passes
The same announcement states: “Each Ultimate Pass includes all Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 & 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets.” This is a bundle description, not a guarantee that every Ultimate Pass has identical characters, ticket quantities, or platform availability.
A regional, platform-specific example
A Capcom Town Store North American Steam listing for the Year 3 Ultimate Pass specifies Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 for its four additional characters and lists 5,800 bonus Drive Tickets. That figure belongs to that particular North American Steam product listing, which may change. It should not be treated as a universal quantity for every region, platform, or pass year.

- Buy a single costume when you want one specific outfit and the current listing gives you a clear eligible route.
- Consider a Character Pass when you want several of its four characters and can use the included colors and tickets.
- Consider an Ultimate Pass when you specifically want the included Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes for those characters, not merely one outfit for a character outside the package.
- Do not value bonus tickets as cash-equivalent savings unless you know which current items accept them and you intend to spend them.
What each route costs in practical terms
The two currencies have different kinds of cost. Fighter Coins require a purchase decision now: you pay for a coin quantity, then spend coins on the listed item. The relevant comparison is the amount of real money needed for the coin package that covers the costume, not an assumed universal coin-to-cash rate. The dated 300-coin Outfit 3 figure tells you the in-game amount, but not a universal real-money price because coin packages and storefronts can differ.

Drive Tickets have an opportunity cost instead. You have accumulated them from challenges or events, and spending them on one eligible item leaves fewer for another eligible item later. Because Capcom does not publish one complete, current ticket price table or a universal earning rate, you cannot responsibly calculate a guaranteed number of challenges per costume. Compare the ticket requirement shown for the item with the other content you are likely to want.
For a player who wants one outfit today, the simplest route is usually the one visibly offered on that outfit’s listing. For a player collecting several characters, a pass may alter the comparison because it combines characters, colors, costumes and tickets. The bundle only has value if those included items match your plans; unused characters and cosmetics still form part of what you are paying for.
A decision tree for common goals
- You want the least direct spending: check whether the costume accepts Drive Tickets, then check whether your balance meets the displayed amount. If it does not, look for an applicable gameplay route rather than assuming tickets can be substituted.
- You want the fastest immediate unlock: use the paid Fighter Coin route when the listing offers it and you accept the current price.
- You want launch-roster Outfit 2 and enjoy World Tour: follow the documented World Tour conditions and maintain the online connection noted in Capcom’s announcement.
- You want launch-roster Outfit 3: treat the dated 300-Fighter-Coin announcement as historical price context, and verify the live listing. Do not search World Tour for an Outfit 3 unlock because Capcom France says it is not available there.
- You want several characters: inspect the relevant Character or Ultimate Pass year, then list the characters, outfit numbers, colors and ticket quantity actually included before comparing it with individual purchases.
Requirements and pitfalls that cause mistaken purchases
An online connection is specifically part of the announced World Tour acquisition process for launch-roster Outfit 2. That requirement is separate from currency eligibility. Being online does not turn a ticket-ineligible item into a ticket item, and owning tickets does not bypass a World Tour condition.
Ownership is another separate check. A pass may include a costume for one of its additional characters, while a single costume listing may assume that the character is available in your game. The base game is required separately for the pass products described in Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement. Read whether you are viewing a character, a costume, a color set or an entire pass.
Do not treat an Ultimate Pass’s bonus tickets as a refund or guaranteed discount. The North American Steam Year 3 listing’s 5,800-ticket quantity is tied to that product, and ticket value depends on the current items that accept tickets. Similarly, do not assume that a pass from one year supplies the same characters or costume combination as another year.
When a Drive Ticket option is missing
If a costume page shows Fighter Coins but no Drive Ticket button, first verify that you selected the intended outfit and character. Outfit 2, Outfit 3, a color variant and a bundle can have different rules. Next check whether the page is a regional or platform-specific store entry and whether your game recognizes the relevant character or pass ownership.
If the listing still shows only Fighter Coins, follow that listing rather than relying on a general currency guide. Capcom’s manual describes tickets as vouchers for content when held in sufficient quantities; it does not promise that every costume is ticket-eligible. A missing ticket option is therefore an item rule, not evidence that your balance is broken.

Common situations and the right route
“I have Drive Tickets and want Outfit 3.”
Check the current Outfit 3 listing first. The documented launch-roster Outfit 3 price was 300 Fighter Coins per character, and Capcom France says Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour. If the live listing does not show Drive Tickets, your ticket balance cannot replace the listed Fighter Coin route.

“I want launch-roster Outfit 2 without paying.”
Use the World Tour route described by Capcom’s launch-roster announcement: meet the required conditions and maintain the required online connection for acquisition. The route is tied to that announcement, so verify the character and current instructions in your game.
“I want Outfit 2 immediately.”
The launch-roster announcement also described a Fighter Coin shop purchase. Confirm the current price and character listing before buying, because the historical announcement does not provide a universal current price table.
“A pass includes Drive Tickets, but I only want one costume.”
Compare the pass’s exact characters and costumes with the single item. A ticket bonus has value only if you can use it on eligible content you actually want. If the pass includes several characters you will not play, the bundle may be a poor fit even when its headline ticket quantity looks large.
“The shop does not show the currency I expected.”
That is usually an eligibility issue rather than a missing button. Recheck the outfit number, character, platform, region, and whether you are viewing a bundle instead of an individual item. Then follow the route shown by that listing; do not infer eligibility from another costume.
What is not a reliable basis for the decision
Several numbers are not established as universal facts:
- There is no published universal Drive Ticket earning rate covering all challenges and events.
- There is no complete, current, cross-platform table of every costume’s Fighter Coin and Drive Ticket price.
- The 300-coin Outfit 3 figure is a dated launch-roster announcement, not a guaranteed price for every later costume.
- The 5,800-ticket figure is tied to a North American Steam Year 3 Ultimate Pass listing, not every Ultimate Pass.
- A launch-roster World Tour rule should not automatically be extended to characters released later.
These limits are why the character’s live listing matters more than a generalized currency chart.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A quick decision checklist
- Have you selected the correct character and outfit number?
- Does the current listing explicitly show Drive Tickets?
- If it shows Fighter Coins, is the price current for your platform and region?
- Is there a World Tour route, and is it applicable to this character?
- Would a Character Pass or Ultimate Pass include the exact character and costume you want?
- Are you counting only bonus tickets you can realistically spend on eligible content?
- Have you checked the package’s platform, region, pass year, and base-game requirements?
Bottom line
Spend Drive Tickets when the exact costume accepts them and you want to use earned currency. Spend Fighter Coins when the listing requires the paid shop route or when immediate purchase is more important than saving tickets. For the documented launch roster, Outfit 2 had a World Tour route plus a Fighter Coin shop option, while Outfit 3 was sold for 300 Fighter Coins per character in the December 1, 2023 announcement and cannot be unlocked through World Tour. Passes can change the value calculation, but only after you verify their exact characters, costumes, ticket quantity, platform, and region.

Are Fighter Coins or Drive Tickets better?
Neither is universally better. Fighter Coins are generally purchased and provide the direct shop route. Drive Tickets are earned and may reduce direct spending when the desired item accepts them. Compare the live item’s currency options, your balances and whether you need the outfit immediately.
How do you unlock Outfit 2 in Street Fighter 6?
For the launch roster, Capcom described two routes: meet the required conditions in World Tour, with an online connection, or buy the outfit in the shop with Fighter Coins. Verify later characters individually because the launch-roster announcement is not a universal rule for every release.
Can you unlock Outfit 3 through World Tour?
Capcom France says Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour. The launch-roster Outfit 3 announcement dated December 1, 2023 listed 300 Fighter Coins per character. Check the current listing for the character you want before purchasing.

Is every Outfit 3 300 Fighter Coins?
The documented figure is 300 Fighter Coins per character for the launch-roster Outfit 3 set announced on December 1, 2023. It is a dated official price, not a guaranteed price for every later character, region, platform or future listing.
How many Drive Tickets do you earn from challenges?
No universal earning rate is established. Drive Tickets are described by Capcom as rewards from challenges or events, but the amount and timing can vary. Do not estimate a guaranteed number of challenges per costume; use the current item requirement and your in-game balance.
Do Character Passes include costumes and Drive Tickets?
Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement says Character Passes include four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10 and Drive Tickets. Contents differ by pass year, and the base game is required separately. Read the exact product listing for your platform and region.
What does an Ultimate Pass add?
Capcom says each Ultimate Pass includes all Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets. A North American Steam Year 3 listing specifies those outfits for its four additional characters and 5,800 bonus Drive Tickets; that quantity is not universal.
Why do I see Fighter Coins but no Drive Ticket option?
The item may simply be ticket-ineligible. Recheck the character, outfit number, bundle type, platform and region, then follow the current listing. Capcom does not guarantee Drive Ticket support for every costume, so a ticket balance cannot override an item’s displayed payment route.
The Bottom Line
Use Drive Tickets only when the exact costume listing accepts them; use Fighter Coins when the listing requires the paid route. Launch-roster Outfit 2 had World Tour and Fighter Coin options, while Outfit 3 was documented at 300 Fighter Coins per character and has no World Tour unlock. Verify the live listing, pass contents, platform and region before spending.
