Can my PC run Street Fighter 6? The official minimum is a 64-bit Windows 10 PC with an Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM or Radeon RX 580 with 4 GB. Steam’s recommended tier raises that to an Intel Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT. Both tiers require DirectX 12 and 60 GB of available storage.
Those specifications are eligibility targets, not a guaranteed frame rate. Steam warns that performance can drop in graphics-intensive scenes, and every update may need additional disk space. For unstable performance, Capcom’s first documented adjustment is to open Multi Menu → Options → Graphics and set the options under Quality to Low or Lowest, then restart when prompted.

Street Fighter 6 system requirements at a glance
The table below reproduces the PC requirements shown on the Steam listing, checked October 13, 2026. “Minimum” means the game may run on a system at or above that specification; it does not promise a fixed frame rate in every scene. “Recommended” is Steam’s higher comparison tier, not a guarantee of a particular resolution, refresh rate, or performance level.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 | Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics processor | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 580 with 4 GB VRAM | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 60 GB available | 60 GB available |
Steam lists the same 60 GB figure for both tiers, but also says that additional storage is needed for each subsequent update. Leave free space beyond the installation figure rather than treating 60 GB as a permanent ceiling.

How to compare your PC with the requirements
Check each category separately. A computer that exceeds the CPU requirement but uses an unsupported or weaker graphics processor is not equivalent to one that exceeds every tier. Likewise, having enough storage does not compensate for insufficient system memory.
Operating system
The minimum operating-system entry is Windows 10, 64-bit. The recommended entry permits either Windows 10 or Windows 11, also 64-bit. A 32-bit Windows installation does not match the published requirement. To check, open Settings → System → About and look at System type. Install pending Windows updates before troubleshooting performance; Capcom lists an up-to-date Windows installation among its official checks.
Processor
At minimum, Steam names the Intel Core i5-7500 and AMD Ryzen 3 1200. Its recommended examples are the Intel Core i7-8700 and AMD Ryzen 5 3600. These are reference models, not a complete list of every processor that can work. Compare your exact CPU model with the tier rather than relying on a family name such as “Core i5” or “Ryzen 5,” because models within those families differ substantially.

Street Fighter 6 lists 8 GB of RAM as minimum and 16 GB as recommended. The operating system and background applications also consume memory, so a machine with exactly 8 GB can have less available for the game once Windows and other software are loaded. Capcom specifically recommends closing applications that consume substantial CPU, GPU, memory, or input/output bandwidth when investigating instability.
Graphics processor and VRAM
The published minimum graphics examples are a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM or a Radeon RX 580 with 4 GB. The recommended examples are a GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT. Steam does not attach a VRAM figure to the recommended examples in the listing, so do not infer one from the minimum row.
The RTX 2070 and RX 5700 XT are the models Steam uses to define its recommended tier. They are older-generation reference points, not a current market-value buying recommendation. If you are planning an upgrade, compare a prospective card’s real specification and price with these published examples, but do not assume that buying any card with a newer name automatically guarantees a particular frame rate.

DirectX
Both requirement tiers specify DirectX 12. Windows normally supplies the DirectX components used by the game, but the requirement still matters when checking an older installation or a system with outdated graphics drivers. Capcom’s troubleshooting sequence includes updating the graphics driver and Windows before moving to deeper diagnosis.

Storage
Reserve 60 GB of available space for the PC installation. Steam separately warns that every later update may require additional storage. If the drive is nearly full, free space before installing or updating so the process is not interrupted by a temporary-space failure.
What the requirements do—and do not—tell you
Meeting the minimum or recommended row is not the same as receiving a guaranteed frame rate. Steam explicitly warns that the frame rate may drop during graphics-intensive scenes. The listing does not promise a universal result for every game mode, scene, resolution, display refresh rate, or background workload.
That qualification is especially important when comparing two systems that both meet the same tier. Cooling, power limits, driver versions, memory configuration, background processes, and the settings selected in the game can all affect stability. There is no officially established resolution-by-resolution frame-rate table in the published requirements, so an exact FPS prediction from the component list alone would be misleading.
Best PC settings for smooth play
Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting guide, updated July 20, 2026, gives a direct procedure for an unstable frame rate. Follow it before changing unrelated Windows settings or assuming that a component must be replaced.
- Start Street Fighter 6 and open the Multi Menu.
- Choose Options.
- Open the Graphics tab.
- Under Quality, set the available options to Low or Lowest.
- Apply the changes and restart the game if it asks you to. Capcom says most graphics-setting changes require a restart to take effect.
Capcom’s wording is deliberately practical: “If the frame rate of the game is unstable, please follow the steps below to lower your settings and improve stability.” The guide does not publish a universal combination of individual values, nor does it claim that Low or Lowest will produce a specific FPS on every PC. Treat these presets as the documented first adjustment, then evaluate whether the problem remains.

How to raise quality again without losing stability
Once the game is stable at the lower Quality setting, change one setting at a time and restart whenever the game requests it. This creates a clear before-and-after comparison and makes it easier to identify which change reintroduces instability. Keep a note of the setting changed and the scene in which the problem appears; that information is useful if you later contact support.
How do I fix low FPS in Street Fighter 6?
Use Capcom’s checks in sequence. They are official troubleshooting suggestions, not guaranteed fixes, but completing them removes common causes before you escalate the issue.
1. Confirm that the PC meets the minimum tier
Compare the exact CPU, GPU model and VRAM, RAM amount, operating-system type, DirectX support, and free storage with Steam’s minimum row. Capcom says falling below the minimum can cause poor frame rate or prevent the game from running. If one component is below the published floor, lowering Quality may help in some situations, but the system is outside the stated target.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2. Update the graphics driver and Windows
Install the current driver offered for your graphics processor and complete available Windows updates. Restart Windows afterward so the driver and operating-system changes are fully loaded. Record the driver version if you need to report the issue.
3. Select the high-performance GPU on a dual-GPU laptop
Some laptops contain integrated and dedicated graphics processors. Capcom advises making sure the game uses the dedicated or high-performance GPU. Check the laptop’s graphics-control software or Windows graphics settings and assign Street Fighter 6 to the high-performance processor, then relaunch the game.
Capcom also notes that some integrated graphics may work but have not been tested or officially supported. “It launches” is therefore not the same as an officially supported configuration, particularly when diagnosing erratic performance.

4. Plug in the laptop and check its power plan
Run the game while the laptop is connected to AC power. Check the active Windows power plan and the manufacturer’s performance mode; a battery-saving profile can limit CPU or GPU performance. Make one power change at a time and retest so you know which change affected the result.
5. Close resource-heavy applications
Exit software that uses significant CPU time, GPU memory, system memory, or storage bandwidth. Examples include active video recording, large file transfers, rendering jobs, and other games. Capcom’s guidance is category-based rather than a fixed list: focus on anything consuming substantial resources while Street Fighter 6 is running.
6. Verify the game files in Steam
If instability persists after the graphics and system checks, use Steam’s file-verification function for the installation. Verification can replace damaged or incomplete files without requiring a full reinstall. Relaunch the game after the process completes and repeat the Quality-setting test if necessary.

The location and timing of the slowdown can help you decide which check to prioritize. The official sources do not provide mode-specific benchmarks, so these are troubleshooting distinctions rather than FPS expectations.
Performance is unstable everywhere
Start with the Quality procedure, restart the game, and then check drivers, Windows, power mode, and background applications. A problem that remains across menus and matches after those steps warrants file verification and a support report containing your hardware and software details.

Steam specifically warns that frame rate may drop in graphics-intensive scenes. Lower the Quality options first and restart when required. Do not interpret a scene-specific drop as proof that the entire system fails the minimum requirement, and do not interpret meeting the recommended tier as a promise that such drops cannot occur.

The game chooses the wrong graphics processor
This is most relevant to laptops with both integrated and dedicated graphics. Assign the game to the dedicated or high-performance GPU, connect the charger, check the power plan, and relaunch. If the integrated processor is the only available option, remember Capcom’s qualification that some integrated graphics are not tested or officially supported.
The problem began after an update or file change
Confirm that there is enough free storage for the update, then verify the Steam files. Keep additional disk capacity available because Steam says later updates can require more than the initial 60 GB listing.
Should you upgrade to the recommended tier?
If your PC is at or below the minimum examples and you want more headroom for the game’s Quality settings, the recommended tier is the clearest published target: an i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT. Steam presents those parts as examples for its recommended specification, not as a shopping list with a guaranteed result.
Upgrade the limiting component rather than replacing parts indiscriminately. A system with 8 GB of RAM but a recommended-class GPU may benefit from additional memory, while a system with 16 GB of RAM and a below-minimum GPU remains graphics-limited. Check the exact model, VRAM, power supply, case clearance, and cooling before buying hardware; the Street Fighter 6 listing itself does not specify those upgrade requirements.
Because no official benchmark thresholds or resolution-specific FPS results are supplied, avoid choosing an upgrade solely on an advertised frame-rate claim. Use the published tiers as a compatibility reference and judge any performance target against your own display resolution and refresh-rate needs.
Laptop checklist
- Use a 64-bit Windows installation.
- Connect the charger before launching the game.
- Select the dedicated or high-performance GPU when the laptop has dual graphics.
- Choose a performance-oriented power plan rather than a battery-saving mode.
- Close resource-heavy applications.
- Compare the laptop’s CPU, GPU and VRAM, RAM, DirectX support, and free storage with the Steam table.
- Lower Graphics-tab Quality options to Low or Lowest if the frame rate is unstable, then restart when requested.
What to include in a Capcom support report
If the documented checks do not resolve the issue, Capcom asks for enough system and reproduction detail to investigate. Gather the following before submitting a report:
- CPU model.
- GPU model and VRAM amount.
- Total system memory.
- Windows version.
- Graphics-driver version.
- The graphics settings recorded in
config.ini. - When the problem occurs, such as during a particular type of scene or after a specific action.
Include whether you lowered the Quality settings, restarted the game, updated drivers and Windows, checked the laptop GPU selection and power plan, closed background software, and verified the Steam files. This gives support a reproducible sequence instead of only a general statement that performance is low.
