Strive, Inc. said it bought 2,000 bitcoin between September 28 and October 2, 2026, at an average price of about $84,422 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses. Its reported balance rose to 29,462 BTC on October 2, according to the company’s October 5 SEC filing.
How much bitcoin did Strive buy?
Strive disclosed the 2,000-BTC purchase in a Form 8-K filed October 5, 2026. The company said the purchases took place from September 28 through October 2 at an average cost of approximately $84,422 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses.
The filing reports 27,462 BTC as of September 25 and 29,462 BTC as of October 2. Those dated holdings figures show the increase associated with the transaction period; they are not a promise that the balance remains unchanged after October 2.
What did Strive report at September 30?
The same filing gives a separate, preliminary snapshot for September 30. Strive reported 28,000 BTC with an average acquisition cost of $90,170 per bitcoin, alongside $284.7 million in cash and cash equivalents and $50.2 million in fair value of Strategy, Inc. STRC stock.

These September 30 figures are preliminary and unaudited. Strive said quarter-close procedures were incomplete and the estimates could change. They should not be mixed up with the later October 2 holdings figure of 29,462 BTC.

How did Strive fund the purchase?
The SEC filing establishes the bitcoin purchase and dated balances. For funding context, The Block reported on October 5 that CEO Matt Cole attributed 61.5% of capital raised to SATA and said warrant exercises produced $56.7 million. The Block also described the bitcoin buy as Strive’s largest since June. These details are secondary reporting attributed to Cole, rather than funding figures established in the cited filing passages.

What is Strive’s stated treasury strategy?
Strive describes bitcoin as its capital-deployment hurdle rate. It presents SATA as a security intended to provide cash flows while allowing the company to capture a spread between SATA’s financing cost and bitcoin’s potential long-term return. That is the company’s strategic framing, not evidence that the spread or a particular investment return has been achieved.
The October 5 filing says that while bitcoin is below $100,000, management’s current objective is to increase and maintain the Amplification Ratio above 60%. This is a conditional objective, not a reported achievement. The filing also describes a SATA repurchase facility of up to $500 million; a facility is available capacity, not a statement that Strive has completed repurchases for that amount.

Strive’s April 27, 2026 release quoted Jeff Walton, identified there as CEO of True North and Strive’s Chief Risk Officer, saying, “Bitcoin and adjacent securities are transforming how businesses manage their treasuries.” The release also listed risks including executing the bitcoin treasury strategy, digital-asset exposure, economic and market conditions, interest and exchange rates, monetary policy, regulation and enforcement, and dilution from share issuance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does owning Strive stock mean you own its bitcoin?
No. Strive says its securities do not give holders ownership of the company’s bitcoin or a right to redeem shares for bitcoin. The company also warns that assets are subject to liabilities and senior preferred claims. A shareholder therefore does not have a direct claim to a proportional number of coins simply by owning stock.

Strive’s Bitcoin Yield and Bitcoin Gain metrics are company-defined measures, not traditional measures of financial performance, valuation, liquidity, or investment return. A change in bitcoin per share does not by itself establish a shareholder’s realized return: it does not account for the full claims on company assets, the terms and seniority of securities, or the price at which an investor buys or sells shares.
