Which Styx games were free on Epic?
Historical giveaway records identify Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness as the two titles offered together. They do not establish “Styx Collection” as the formal name of an Epic bundle. The schedule is reported by a historical roundup and PC Gamer; Epic’s currently retrieved pages confirm game information but do not preserve the original promotion dates (historical giveaway roundup; PC Gamer).

Styx: Master of Shadows
Epic describes this as a single-player infiltration game with RPG elements, set in a dark-fantasy world. You play Styx, a goblin who sneaks, steals and assassinates through the Tower of Akenash. The listing highlights stealth, vertical exploration, abilities and skill progression, and identifies Windows as the platform, Cyanide Studio as developer, and Nacon as publisher (Epic Games Store listing).
Styx: Shards of Darkness
This sequel is named in the historical giveaway records, but the official page information available here does not establish its mechanics, platform requirements, edition details or publisher. The historical record supports its inclusion in the offer, not those additional specifics.

When was Rustler free on Epic Games Store?
The reported sequence was Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness from January 15–22, 2026, then Rustler (Grand Theft Horse) from January 22–29, 2026. The dates come from historical secondary listings rather than a preserved Epic announcement, so they should be read as reported historical schedule details, not a current offer (historical giveaway roundup; PC Gamer).
Epic’s live Free Games page describes its recurring giveaway program, but a live page does not mean these January titles remain claimable (Epic Free Games).
What is Rustler?
Epic describes Rustler as a single-player, top-down open-world action game that parodies medieval history and pays tribute to classic GTA-style gameplay. Its listing points to quests, stealing horses, fighting guards and pop-culture humor. It lists Windows, Jutsu Games as developer and Games Operators as publisher (Epic Games Store listing).
Can you still claim Styx or Rustler for free?
No—not as part of the January 2026 promotion, which ended months before October 8, 2026. The available evidence does not show a current free claim for these games. A later sale or giveaway would be a separate offer; check the live Epic listing for current availability rather than relying on the old “joins next week” wording.
How long do Epic free games stay available?
Epic Games Player Support says a new free game is available each Thursday at 8 AM PT and can be claimed for seven days before rotating. Epic also says claimed games remain in the account permanently, even if they are not downloaded immediately, and that an Epic account with two-factor authentication enabled is required. These are Epic’s general rules for weekly giveaways, not a guarantee that a past title can still be claimed (Epic Player Support: weekly free games).
Epic Player Support also says it does not have advance information about upcoming free games, so a particular future title should not be treated as confirmed until Epic announces it (Epic Player Support).
