Summer Airfield Takeoff Danger Sign: Which Car to Pick in Forza Horizon 6

Short answer: there is no single, permanently best car for the Summer Airfield Takeoff Danger Sign in Forza Horizon 6. The Festival Playlist changes the country and class restriction by season. For the archived Series 1: Welcome to Japan Summer week (May 21–28, 2026), the guide-reported Japanese A-class choices are the 2022 Toyota GR86, Toyota GR Supra, Nissan Silvia K’s and 1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205. A different Series 3 Summer playlist used an Italian A-class restriction and recommended the 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT. Check the active playlist before selecting a car; the October 8–15, 2026 “Horizon Meets – Summer” week is a separate event.

Why the “best” car changes with the Summer playlist

Airfield Takeoff is a Danger Sign: you accelerate along the approach, hit a ramp and are scored on jump distance. The event is not tied to one universal vehicle class. Playlist restrictions can change the eligible country, vehicle category and Performance Index (PI) ceiling, so a car that was legal in one Summer week may be rejected in another.

The two documented Summer examples make the issue clear:

  • Series 1: Welcome to Japan, May 21–28, 2026: Japanese cars, A class, PI no higher than 700; the reported target was 213 m.
  • Series 3 Summer, 2026: Italian cars, A class; the guide again reported a 213 m target and recommended the 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT.

Those are separate archived playlists, not interchangeable recommendations. The official archive also lists “Horizon Meets – Summer” for October 8–15, 2026, with its own requirements. Do not assume that a May or July car restriction still applies to an October event.

Check the active event before you tune anything

Use the in-game Festival Playlist or the official playlist archive to confirm the event currently available to you. The event name alone is not enough because “Summer” recurs across different series.

  1. Open the current Festival Playlist and locate the Airfield Takeoff Danger Sign challenge.
  2. Read the displayed country or manufacturer restriction, vehicle type if shown, and PI cap.
  3. Write down the target distance shown for that exact week. The 213 m figure belongs to the cited seasonal guides; it should be verified in your own active playlist.
  4. Filter your garage to cars that satisfy every displayed restriction before applying upgrades or a share code.
  5. If the event is no longer active, use the official archive to identify the series and dates rather than carrying forward an older build.

The official Series 6 announcement places the “Horizon Meets” playlist start at October 8, 2026, 14:30 UTC. That timing confirms the October week is distinct from the archived Welcome to Japan and Series 3 Summer examples.

Best choices for the archived Japanese A-class Summer event

For Series 1: Welcome to Japan Summer, the independent guide listed four Japanese cars: the 2022 Toyota GR86, Toyota GR Supra, Nissan Silvia K’s and 1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205. The guide did not establish an objectively fastest car through an official test, and the available material does not independently verify each car’s performance, tune or PI after modifications. Treat the list as a practical starting point for that historical event, not a permanent ranking.

Car Eligibility in the cited Japanese week What is established What is not established
2022 Toyota GR86 Japanese, A class, PI 700 or lower Listed by the secondary guide as a recommendation for Series 1 Summer. No independently verified jump distance, launch figure or tested tune.
Toyota GR Supra Japanese, A class, PI 700 or lower Listed by the same guide for the same archived restriction. No source-backed claim that it is faster than the other listed cars.
Nissan Silvia K’s Japanese, A class, PI 700 or lower Listed as a recommendation; the guide reported share code 109 972 012. The code is guide-reported, not personally tested or officially validated here.
1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 Japanese, A class, PI 700 or lower Listed as a recommendation; the guide reported share code 883 345 296. No controlled comparison with the other candidates.

If you already own one of these cars, starting with it is sensible: ownership avoids a purchase detour, and the guide did not prove that changing to another candidate guarantees a longer jump. If you are choosing between them, compare the factors that matter for this sign—whether the build remains under the cap, acceleration over the available run-up, the availability of a current tune, and your ability to repeat the approach consistently.

Using the reported Silvia or Celica share codes

The codes above are included only as reported by the guide for the Japanese playlist. Enter a code through the game’s tuning or shared-tune interface, then check the resulting car yourself:

  • Confirm that the car still meets the event’s Japanese A-class and PI-700-or-lower requirements.
  • Check whether the tune changes drivetrain, tires, gearing or other handling characteristics that affect your approach.
  • Do not assume a shared tune is current, available on every platform, or suitable for a later playlist.
  • If the code is unavailable, use the stock or another eligible A-class build rather than forcing an ineligible car into the event.

How to make the Airfield Takeoff attempt

The cited guide describes the challenge as a ramp jump and advises prioritizing a clean, fast approach over last-second steering. Its figures are driving advice, not controlled test results.

  • ITALIAN PASSION CAR PACK — Introduces 4 great new Italian cars in Forza Horizon 6 post-launch, perfect for cruising, racing, or exploring.
  1. Start with a legal car. Confirm the exact country and PI restriction shown by the active playlist. For the archived Japanese event, that meant a Japanese A-class car at PI 700 or below.
  2. Use the longest practical run-up. The guide recommends a long run-up so the car has time to build speed before the ramp.
  3. Carry speed through the bend. Avoid unnecessary braking or a wide correction that costs momentum. Aim for a stable line rather than a dramatic turn-in.
  4. Approach the ramp above 190 km/h. This is the guide’s reported advice for the Japanese challenge, not a guaranteed threshold for every car, tune or later playlist.
  5. Keep the car aligned with the jump. A straight launch gives the game a better chance to measure the full distance; a sideways takeoff can trade distance for rotation.
  6. Review the result against the active target. The commonly cited 213 m target applies to the documented seasonal guides. If your playlist shows another number, use that number instead.

Run several attempts with the same line before changing cars. Consistency tells you whether the limitation is the approach or the vehicle. A single poor landing does not prove that a candidate is incapable of the target.

What to use for the Italian A-class Summer playlist

The Series 3 Summer guide describes a different restriction: Italian A-class cars. It recommends the 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT for an Airfield Takeoff challenge reported at 213 m. That recommendation cannot be transferred to the Japanese Series 1 event, and it should not be treated as an answer for the October 2026 “Horizon Meets” playlist without checking that week’s rules.

For the Italian event, apply the same verification process: confirm that the Dino is legal in the active playlist, check its PI after any upgrades, and use the target displayed in-game. The source material does not provide a controlled comparison against other Italian cars, a verified launch statistic or an official tune code.

A practical decision framework when several cars qualify

Once you know the restriction, choose the car that gives you the best combination of legality, repeatability and available setup—not the one with an unverified reputation for being fastest.

Decision factor How to use it
Country and class compliance Reject any car that fails the playlist’s country, type or A-class requirement, even if it has more power.
PI headroom Leave enough room under the cap for upgrades without accidentally moving into the next class. The cited Japanese rule was PI 700 or lower.
Acceleration on the approach Favor the car that reaches the ramp speed reliably over the available run-up, based on your own repeatable attempts.
Tune availability A working shared tune can save setup time, but check its resulting PI and handling rather than trusting the code alone.
Ownership and familiarity An owned car you can control consistently may be more useful than an unfamiliar candidate with no verified advantage.
Line stability Choose the build that stays straight through the bend and launches cleanly. The longest theoretical speed is less useful if the car wanders before the ramp.

Troubleshooting a failed jump

The event says the car is ineligible

Re-open the event restrictions and compare country, vehicle type, class and PI. A car can be eligible for one Summer playlist and illegal for another. Remove upgrades or switch cars until every displayed condition is met.

You are short of the target by a small margin

Repeat the approach with the same car and a longer run-up. Preserve speed through the bend and work toward the guide’s above-190-km/h ramp approach for the Japanese example. Change one variable at a time so you can tell whether the improvement came from the line, speed or tune.

The car reaches the ramp quickly but lands short

Check alignment before adding more power. A sideways launch, late steering correction or a compromised approach can waste distance even when the speedometer looks strong. Use a straight, controlled entry and compare several attempts.

The reported share code does not work

Codes can be unavailable or unsuitable after playlist changes. Verify the code entry, then inspect the resulting PI and restrictions. If it remains unavailable, use another legal build; the guide’s codes are not official guarantees.

The target is not 213 m

Use the number shown by your current playlist. The 213 m figure is associated with the documented Japanese and Italian Summer guides, while later or different series can change event requirements.

What this recommendation does—and does not—mean

These are in-game choices for a Danger Sign, not advice to buy a real vehicle. No real-world vehicle testing supports one car as universally superior. Likewise, no official source in the available material confirms a single best car, a guaranteed tune code, or a tested distance for every version of the event.

The most defensible answer is therefore conditional: use one of the four guide-reported Japanese A-class candidates for the archived Welcome to Japan Summer event; use the guide-reported Italian recommendation only when the active playlist specifically requires Italian A-class cars; and verify every current restriction and target in-game before attempting the jump.
