Wonder amiibo figures—Elephant Mario, Captain Toad & Talking Flower, and Poplin & Prince Florian—and lists their release date as March 26, 2026. That date has passed; Nintendo notes that release dates can change and may vary by region. In both the original game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, scanning a compatible Mario-series amiibo during a course grants a helpful power-up. The Switch 2 Edition adds a separate use in Bellabel Park: changing decorations.
Which Super Mario Bros. Wonder amiibo were revealed?
The lineup has three designs. Nintendo describes the same broad course benefit for each; its published information does not establish different power-ups or advantages by figure.
| Figure | Nintendo-stated use |
|---|---|
| Elephant Mario | Helpful power-ups in courses in both editions; can also change Bellabel Park decorations in the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo |
| Captain Toad & Talking Flower | Helpful power-ups in courses in both editions; can also change Bellabel Park decorations in the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo |
| Poplin & Prince Florian | Helpful power-ups in courses in both editions; can also change Bellabel Park decorations in the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo |
The character pairings and Elephant Mario design distinguish the figures as collectibles, but Nintendo does not say that one has a unique gameplay effect. They are accessories sold separately from games and systems.
When did Nintendo list the release date?
Nintendo lists March 26, 2026 for the figures. Since that date is in the past, it is best understood as Nintendo’s listed release date, not an upcoming launch. Its launch schedule cautions that dates may change and can differ by region, so the listing should not be treated as proof that every territory received the figures on that day. What do the amiibo do in each game?
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder
During a course, scanning a compatible Mario-series amiibo grants a helpful power-up. Nintendo’s guidance covers the original Super Mario Bros. Wonder as well as the Switch 2 Edition; the power-up feature is not exclusive to the newer edition.
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park
The course power-up use is also available in this edition. In addition, scanning an amiibo in Bellabel Park changes various decorations. Nintendo presents that decoration function as a Switch 2 Edition feature, not a feature of the original game. Nintendo Support: How to use amiibo
