Super Robot Wars X is a tactical simulation RPG built around a crossover of mecha anime, with a self-contained story set in the original world of Al-Warth. The Japanese official site lists 23 represented works, including five new to the series, and names PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch and Steam as platforms. English support depends on the platform and regional listing: it is confirmed on Nintendo’s Philippines Switch page, while Steam specifies English interface and subtitles but not English full audio.
What kind of game is Super Robot Wars X?
Super Robot Wars X is a simulation RPG in which robots and characters from different animated works join forces against a shared enemy. Its story takes place in Al-Warth, an original alternate world, making X a self-contained entry rather than a continuation that requires playing another game in the series. The official description establishes that setting, but it does not promise that every character or franchise reference is explained for newcomers. The Japanese official overview describes the series and X’s premise.

The game’s appeal is the crossover itself: it brings together mecha properties with different tones and casts, then puts their units into tactical battles. The official roster includes works such as Gurren Lagann and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Some appearances are designated as unit-only, so a listed work does not necessarily have the same narrative role as the others. See the official lineup for the roster and those distinctions.
Which platforms is Super Robot Wars X on?
The Japanese official specifications list four platforms. The dates below are not a single worldwide launch date: Switch and Steam dates come from separate regional/platform listings.

Does Super Robot Wars X have English?
Yes on the specific listings that confirm it, but the language details should not be generalized to every edition or region.
Rank #2
- Tactical role-playing game with crossover mecha franchises
- Extensive unit customization and upgrades
- Story-driven missions with anime-style battles
- Large list of iconic robots and pilots
- Turn-based grid battle for strategy fans
- Nintendo Switch: Nintendo’s Philippines listing supports English, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Japanese. It lists TV, tabletop and handheld play for one player. Nintendo notes that compatibility or experience may differ on Switch Lite and that additional accessories may be required, but it does not identify a game-specific accessory. Check the regional Switch listing.
- Steam: English is listed for interface and subtitles, not full audio. Japanese is listed for interface, full audio and subtitles; Korean and Traditional Chinese are listed for interface and subtitles. Check Steam’s language table.
If you are buying a console copy outside the Philippines, verify the language information on the exact regional storefront or package; the cited Switch page does not establish the contents of every regional console edition.
What series are in Super Robot Wars X?
The official site counts 23 represented works, with five making their Super Robot Wars debut in X. It includes familiar mecha properties alongside works such as Gurren Lagann and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. The official lineup distinguishes some appearances as unit-only, so the total is not a claim that all 23 franchises have equal story presence. The full official roster is available on the lineup page; the count and debut figure are stated in the official overview.
What editions and bonus content should buyers know about?
Premium Anime Song & Sound Edition
The Japanese official site described a Premium Anime Song & Sound Edition that added 35 songs to the standard version. Its distribution period ended May 31, 2018, and the included tracks were game-length versions, not full-length songs. The official specifications now mark the limited-production editions as discontinued, so this is historical edition information, not an assurance that the edition is currently available new. The official music-edition page has the details.
Early-purchase bonuses
The official site’s early-purchase code offers had deadlines, including an expiration date of March 28, 2019. Those offers have expired; do not assume a newly purchased copy includes usable codes. The official bonus page lists the historical terms.

Steam scenarios and DLC
Steam says its release includes all 20 bonus scenarios from the previous release. The store also lists a Replay Support Pack as separate DLC. That does not establish present-day console DLC availability or whether a particular regional storefront bundles the same content; check the listing for the exact version you intend to buy. Steam’s store page describes its included content and DLC.

Choose based on the platform you own and the exact listing, rather than assuming every edition has the same language or extras.
- For handheld and TV play: the cited Nintendo Switch Philippines page lists handheld, tabletop and TV modes. Confirm language support for your own region’s edition.
- For PC: Steam confirms English interface and subtitles, and identifies the Steam edition’s bonus scenarios. Its listing does not offer English full audio.
- For PS4 or PS Vita: both appear on the Japanese official platform list, but the sources here do not establish current regional availability, language options or bundled content for every storefront.
- For a music-focused edition: the historical Premium Anime Song & Sound Edition added game-length tracks, but its official limited distribution period has ended.
Before buying, compare the region, language table, edition name, physical or digital format, and any listed scenarios or DLC on the actual offer. A platform’s general listing does not verify a particular seller’s stock, packaging or price.
