Superior arrived on Steam in Early Access on November 16, 2022; its full Steam release followed on August 22, 2023. Steam now lists the game as Superior: Vengeance. Developed by Drifter and published by Gala Games, it is a third-person roguelite shooter built around hunting corrupted superheroes, taking their powers and playing solo or in online co-op.
When did Superior launch on Steam?
Steam lists November 16, 2022 as the Early Access date and August 22, 2023 as the full release date. The 2022 launch was not the full release. The Steam store now uses the title Superior: Vengeance, while Drifter’s original launch coverage called it Superior. Steam’s listing identifies Drifter as developer and Gala Games as publisher.

What kind of game is Superior: Vengeance?
It is a third-person roguelite shooter in which superheroes have turned evil. Players hunt them and steal their powers. Runs begin with a character unpowered and outgunned; combat, abilities and equipment build that character’s strength as the run progresses. Steam describes missions with changing objectives, routes and adversaries, alongside distinct character playstyles and persistent skill-tree progression.
Gala Games’ October 2022 announcement described six unique ex-superhero bosses at launch. That was a publisher statement about the launch-period game, not confirmation of the current boss roster. Gala’s announcement also framed the game as a co-op superhero shooter; that positioning is promotional, rather than an independent assessment.

Can you play alone or in co-op?
Steam lists single-player, online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer. The store page does not specify the platforms between which cross-platform play is supported, so the listing alone does not establish which systems can join the same session. Current availability beyond Steam is not established by the sources cited here.

What was the separate blockchain version?
In November 2022, GamesBeat reported that Drifter was developing two versions: a Steam version described as a conventional game without blockchain and a separate version through Gala Games. Drifter CEO Ray Davis called them “two completely different products, essentially.” This is a historical account of the launch-period plan and does not verify the separate version’s current operating status. GamesBeat’s report also quoted Davis describing solo and co-op play, goals, powers and unlocks; those remarks reflect the developer’s stated intent, not an independent evaluation.
