Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Mystic Spearhand is a special vocation for the Arisen, not a Pawn vocation. To unlock it, meet Sigurd after the dragon encounter at Melve and register the vocation at a Vocation Guild for 200 Discipline. To earn its signature skill, Wild Furie, follow Sigurd’s reward route: defeat the Lesser Dragon at Dragonsbreath Tower or speak with him at his Harve Village house after the relevant quest progression.
How to unlock Mystic Spearhand
The early route begins in Melve after you have progressed far enough through the main story. Return there, help drive off the dragon, then speak with Sigurd, the man wielding a duospear. Once you have met him, visit a Vocation Guild and spend 200 Discipline to unlock Mystic Spearhand. This route and cost are reported by Windows Central; story progression can affect when the encounter becomes available, so do not expect it at a fixed point.

If you missed Melve
Sigurd can also be found in Harve Village, providing another opportunity to learn about the vocation. A guide also places him at his coastal hut after other quest progression. Speak to him when you encounter him, then check a Vocation Guild for the vocation unlock. The exact timing depends on your progress through the game.
Where to find Sigurd and earn Wild Furie
Guides place Sigurd at Melve, Harve Village, and Dragonsbreath Tower, southwest of Bakbattahl. These locations serve different purposes: the Melve encounter is the early unlock route, while the tower and Harve interactions are associated with the Maister reward.
#1 Best Overall
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
Dragonsbreath Tower route
- Travel to Dragonsbreath Tower southwest of Bakbattahl. The route and ascent are dangerous, so prepare before setting out.
- At the tower, fight the Lesser Dragon. Windows Central recommends camping before the battle, using Mystic Spearhand’s barrier defensively, targeting visible weak points, and conserving stamina if you climb onto the dragon. These are that guide’s recommendations, not independently tested tactics.
- After the fight, speak with Sigurd. Windows Central reports that defeating the dragon yields the Dead Ringer duospear and access to the Paladin’s Enigmatum scroll, which teaches Wild Furie.
Harve Village interaction
GameSpot also describes a route in which Sigurd may grant the ultimate technique at his house in Harve Village. After the relevant encounter or quest progression, speak to him there and check your inventory for the Paladin’s Enigmatum. The guides describe the tower and Harve as reward routes; if the scroll has not appeared, revisit Sigurd after progressing the associated encounter.
Wild Furie unleashes a flurry of physical slashes and magical attacks. GameSpot notes that additional button presses extend the attack, at the cost of stamina. It is a high-commitment option: leave enough stamina for the follow-up actions or evasions you may need.

Mystic Spearhand skills
Weapon skills consume stamina. Some become available through vocation ranks, while Maister skills require scrolls. You can change equipped weapon skills at a Vocation Guild. The following abilities and descriptions are listed in Windows Central’s guide; names and behavior may vary if later game updates have changed them.
| Skill | What it does | Useful consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Dragoun’s Stabbe / Dragoun’s Foin | A lunging jab; the advanced Foin travels farther and adds magical damage. | Mobility and reach for closing distance. |
| Seching Blade / Seching Storm | Conjures projectiles; Storm creates more blades at a lower stamina cost. | Ranged pressure without staying in melee. |
| Humble Offringe / Devout Offringe | Levitate and throw nearby objects; the advanced version reaches farther and can lift targets from farther away. | Uses nearby objects and can affect targets at greater range. |
| Thef’s Hond / Ravinour’s Hond | Drains vitality to restore stamina; the advanced version hastens recovery. | Supports stamina economy during sustained combat. |
| Mirour Vesture / Mirour Shelde | Creates a brief magical barrier for the user and nearby allies; the advanced version lasts longer and has greater effective range. | Provides defensive coverage for you and the party. |
| Redouted Bolt / Forbeding Bolt | Fires a ranged bolt; Forbeding Bolt is the upgraded form. | Windows Central’s later-build advice uses the upgraded bolt to interrupt a large enemy before a charged attack. |
| Magike Speregonne | Charges and fires a ranged attack. The guide says spending stamina during the charge increases its damage. | Consider the stamina cost before charging in a dangerous opening. |
| Skiedragoun’s Feste / Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth | A counter and attack option that can help with knockdown and evasion when timed to enemy openings. | Rewards timing rather than continuous use. |
| Winding Cut | Delivers repeated spinning duospear strikes. | Close-range repeated hits. |
| Wild Furie | A Maister skill: a flurry of slashes and magical attacks that can be extended with additional inputs, spending stamina. | Strong offensive commitment; watch your stamina. |
Core skills and augments
Core skills are separate from equipped weapon skills. Mystic Spearhand also has vocation augments, and augments can be used across vocations, with up to six equipped at a time. The named Mystic Spearhand augments listed by Windows Central are Conveyance, Opulence, Polarity, Refulgence, and Athleticism. The guide reports that reaching vocation rank 9 takes over 27,000 Discipline; treat that as the guide’s figure, not an independently verified total.

How to choose a practical setup
There is no single best loadout for every stage or encounter. Windows Central’s 2024 recommendations suggest building around the problem you need to solve:
- When stamina is the bottleneck: consider Thef’s Hond or Ravinour’s Hond to recover stamina through combat.
- When the party needs protection: equip Mirour Vesture or Mirour Shelde for a barrier that can cover nearby allies.
- For later-game ranged pressure: consider Magike Speregonne and the upgraded bolt, Forbeding Bolt, if you can manage their stamina demands.
- For timing-based defense and offense: Skiedragoun’s Feste or Fangtooth can reward counters timed to enemy openings.
- For movement and reach: Dragoun’s Foin and the advanced Offringe can help you engage targets at a distance.
The same guide recommends considering stamina- or damage-related augments earned in other vocations. Treat these as one guide’s build suggestions from 2024, not a definitive ranking or a guarantee of best performance. The gameplay guidance was published in March 2024, so check current in-game behavior if a patch has changed skill effects, quest triggers, or balance.

What Mystic Spearhand is built to do
Capcom’s official manual describes the vocation this way: “Mystic spearhands wield the duospear to unleash a seamless melding of magickal and physical attacks.” In practice, the guide material presents it as a predominantly melee vocation with ranged, mobility, and defensive options. Its distinct advantage is the ability to shift among close-range attacks, magical projectiles, movement, and party protection; its trade-off is that weapon skills draw on stamina, so a loadout should match the fight rather than rely on constant skill use.
