If SUPERVIVE crashes on startup or during play, work through the low-risk checks first: confirm your PC meets the game’s requirements, update Windows and graphics drivers, check the installation, and temporarily disable overlays. Theorycraft Games Support also identifies specific software conflicts and configuration limits. None of these steps is a guaranteed fix for every PC.
Try these eight checks in order
This is a practical sequence, not a ranking proven by comparative testing. Start with checks that are easy to reverse, then move to system-level diagnosis if the crash continues.
1. Compare your PC with SUPERVIVE’s requirements
Steam’s live listing, accessed in 2026, gives these minimum and recommended specifications:
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit, build 1909.1350 or newer | Not stated in Steam’s listing |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-4670 or AMD FX-8350 equivalent | Intel Core i5-9400F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 770 or equivalent | NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super or equivalent |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 12 |
| Network | Broadband internet connection | Not stated in Steam’s listing |
| Storage | 8 GB available space | 10 GB available space |
These are published requirements, not a guarantee that a PC meeting them will run without crashes. Requirements can change, so check SUPERVIVE’s Steam listing for the current details.

2. Update Windows and your graphics driver
The developer recommends checking that Windows and graphics drivers are current. Install available Windows updates and obtain the appropriate driver through your GPU maker’s official update instructions: Theorycraft’s graphics-driver update guide and Windows update guide. Restart the PC after installing updates and test the game before changing additional settings.
3. Check for installation errors and damaged files
Review Theorycraft’s common installation-errors guidance if the game fails to install or launch. A damaged or incomplete game installation can also be worth checking with the platform’s repair feature; NVIDIA’s general troubleshooting guidance recommends checking game files. In Steam, use the game’s properties to find its installed-files verification option; client labels can change over time.

4. Temporarily turn off overlays
Theorycraft specifically names Overwolf, Discord Overlay, and Nvidia GeForce Overlay among the software to check. Disable these overlays temporarily, then launch the game and see whether the crash still occurs. If the game becomes stable, re-enable overlays one at a time to identify whether one is involved; do not assume an overlay is the cause if the crash persists.
5. Check Hyper-V and virtual-machine use
The developer includes disabling Hyper-V among its startup-crash checks. If Hyper-V is enabled, follow Theorycraft’s instructions for disabling it and test again. Change only the setting relevant to this check rather than turning off unrelated Windows security features.

Theorycraft Games Support says, “We currently do not support playing SUPERVIVE on Virtual Machines.” Its examples include Shadow PC. If you are playing through a virtual machine, the game’s behavior there is outside the developer’s supported configurations.
6. Check for the conflicts Theorycraft has identified
Theorycraft Games Support states, “There is a known incompatibility with A-Volute Sonic Studio that will cause a crash.” If Sonic Studio is installed, use the developer’s Sonic Studio crash guidance to address that conflict.

The developer also notes that an unsigned AMD driver may be involved when the error shown in its support article appears, and advises obtaining the latest AMD release. This is tied to that error; it does not establish that AMD drivers generally cause crashes. Theorycraft also reports crashes on Windows 11 N Pro and suggests considering a non-beta Windows 11 version. Treat that as a reported configuration-specific issue, not a finding about every Windows 11 PC.
7. Reduce resolution scaling, then consider firmware and stability
Theorycraft warns that GPU software which renders above your monitor’s native resolution can cause application issues and add GPU strain. If you have enabled resolution scaling or supersampling, return it to the monitor’s native resolution for a test.

If simpler checks do not help, the developer says BIOS firmware or motherboard drivers may need updating in some cases. Firmware steps are specific to the PC or motherboard model; follow the manufacturer’s instructions rather than applying a generic BIOS update procedure. NVIDIA’s general PC-game guidance also suggests checking for overclocks, chipset-driver issues, poor ventilation or dust buildup, power-supply problems, and broader hardware instability when symptoms point to them. These are possibilities to investigate, not established SUPERVIVE-specific causes.
8. Contact support with details that narrow the problem
If the relevant checks do not resolve the crash, contact Theorycraft through its official help center. Include information that helps distinguish a launch failure from a later crash:
- Whether the game crashes at launch, in the lobby, or during a match.
- Your PC specifications, including processor, graphics card, and memory.
- Your Windows version and graphics-driver version, if available.
- Any visible error message and recent game, Windows, or driver changes.
- Which troubleshooting steps you tried and whether anything changed.
Are community fixes like -dx11 reliable?
Some Steam community posts report trying -dx11, driver rollbacks, DDU, or Hyper-V changes, but those reports are anecdotal and outcomes conflict. They are not established, universal fixes or current official recommendations. Prefer the developer’s supported checks first; if you experiment with a community suggestion, change one thing at a time so you can tell whether it affects the crash.
