The Rematch’s reported strengths are its TMR thumbsticks and longer battery life; the Afterglow Wave costs less in the cited US deal and adds RGB lighting and programmable rear buttons. These are publisher-reported offers and features, not the results of a controlled comparison.
Which Switch 2 controller deal fits you?
For a standard gamepad, choose based on the features you will actually use rather than the biggest claimed discount. The available coverage points to different strengths: the Rematch emphasizes its thumbsticks and reported battery life, while the Afterglow Wave emphasizes lighting and customizable controls.

|---|---|---|---|
| Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller | £24.97, reduced from £49.99 at Amazon UK for the Donkey Kong design, according to TechRadar’s October 6, 2026 coverage. Separately, TechRadar reported a US Best Buy price of $51.99, reduced from $64.99, for the black colorway. | TechRadar reports TMR thumbsticks and a 40-hour battery life, and describes the controller as lightweight and ergonomic. | Players who prioritize the reported stick technology and longer battery claim, or want the Donkey Kong design at the reported UK price. |
| PDP Afterglow Wave Wireless RGB Controller | $26.99, reduced from $59.99, according to GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming’s October 2026 deal coverage. | GamesRadar+ reports RGB lighting, remappable back buttons and a 20-hour battery. Insider Gaming specifies eight RGB zones, four lighting presets, two programmable quick-action back buttons and motion controls. | Players who want lighting customization and rear-button controls at the lower reported US price. |
The prices are not a like-for-like regional comparison: the Rematch’s £24.97 offer is for a specific design at Amazon UK, while its cited US offer is a different color at Best Buy. The Afterglow Wave figure is reported in US deal coverage. Check the retailer listing for your country, colorway, stock and current checkout price before buying.

What distinguishes the Rematch?
TechRadar identifies the Rematch’s TMR thumbsticks as its distinguishing feature compared with Nintendo’s official Pro Controller. The publication also reports a 40-hour battery life and characterizes the controller as lightweight and ergonomic. Those are publisher-reported specifications and impressions; the available coverage does not establish them through an independent test here.

- C Button for GameChat**
The UK deal is specifically for the Donkey Kong design. For US shoppers, TechRadar reported a separate Best Buy offer for the black version, not the same Amazon UK offer. Retailer and color therefore matter as much as the model name when checking whether the quoted deal applies to you.
When the Afterglow Wave makes more sense
The Afterglow Wave is the more feature-forward choice if you care about customizable lighting or programmable rear buttons. GamesRadar+ reports remappable back buttons and a 20-hour battery; Insider Gaming adds details on its eight lighting zones, four presets, two programmable quick-action buttons and motion controls. These are reports from the cited publications, not a direct comparison against the Rematch under matched conditions.

- Only for use with the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
At the reported $26.99 US sale price, it is the cheaper of the two quoted US offers, but the comparison is incomplete: the Rematch’s US offer is from Best Buy and was reported at $51.99, while the Afterglow price is reported in Prime Day deal coverage. Confirm both listings and their current prices in your region before treating the difference as a direct saving.

PDP’s Riffmaster is not an alternative to either standard gamepad. GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming report it at $89.99, down from $149.99, as a Switch 2 guitar controller for rhythm games including Fortnite Festival and the forthcoming Stage Tour. Consider it only if you want a dedicated rhythm-game instrument; its sale price does not make it a general-purpose controller.

How long do the October Prime Day offers last?
GamesRadar+ describes Amazon Prime Big Deal Days as running October 6–7, 2026, and says offers end at the end of October 7 in local time. The Daily Beast’s October 7 coverage cautions that prices are accurate at publication and may change. Because availability and prices can move during a sale, verify the live listing and checkout total rather than relying on a quoted deal after its publication time.
