Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Short answer: StreamNeo is the first option to try for a prerecorded YouTube stream that needs to run continuously from the cloud, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free. Between the two services in this comparison, choose Switchboard Live when you need to distribute a live encoder feed to multiple destinations; choose Gyre when you want to loop prerecorded video from cloud servers. They address different workflows, so “always-on” does not mean the same thing in both products.
How the workflows differ
| Question | Switchboard Live | Gyre |
|---|---|---|
| What goes in? | A live encoder feed, distributed to destinations. | Prerecorded video files, looped or scheduled from the cloud. |
| What is it for? | Multistream distribution: send one live production to multiple platforms or destinations. | Continuous streaming of prerecorded video, including an always-on YouTube stream. |
| Does your computer have to stay on? | Switchboard’s documented workflow requires a live encoder and a steady internet connection; the encoder feed must be available for distribution. | Gyre says files are stored in Gyre Storage and streams are sent from its servers, so the creator can turn off their computer. |
| 24/7 availability | The pricing page lists 24/7 Streams under Enterprise. | Always-on prerecorded streaming is the product’s stated workflow; simultaneous-stream limits vary by tier. |
| Destinations | The FAQ describes up to 30 destinations in one workflow. Its pricing page describes unlimited multistreaming destinations; check how the current plan and workflow limits apply to your account. | This comparison is about its prerecorded-video cloud streaming workflow. The cited Gyre materials do not establish the same multistream destination model as Switchboard. |
| Storage and resolution | The cited pricing and FAQ material does not establish a comparable included file-storage allowance or resolution tier for 24/7 Streams. | Storage, resolution and concurrent streams vary by tier. The displayed trial includes 20 GB; check the current product page for paid-tier limits. |
The practical distinction is the source. Switchboard distributes an ongoing live feed; Gyre plays uploaded recordings continuously from its cloud infrastructure. If you want an unattended loop of prerecorded video, a multistream distribution layer is not automatically a substitute for a cloud playout service.
Which service fits your YouTube channel?
Choose Switchboard Live for a live production feed
Switchboard fits a channel that already produces a live feed through an encoder and wants to distribute it to multiple destinations. Its FAQ names OBS, Switcher Studio, Ecamm Live, vMix and LiveU as encoder examples; these are examples, not evidence that dedicated hardware is mandatory. The FAQ also says the described setup does not store or archive video. If you need recordings or an archive, plan for that separately.
For an ongoing 24/7 stream specifically, note that Switchboard’s pricing page identifies 24/7 Streams under Enterprise. It describes monthly or annual seat-based licensing, with plan-dependent input and team-member allowances. Public-sector pricing is tailored, and the reviewed public pricing information does not state an exact public price. Confirm the current plan, input allowance, and 24/7 availability with Switchboard before building a continuous-stream workflow around it.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose Gyre for cloud looping of prerecorded video
Gyre is the closer fit when the source is one or more uploaded recordings that should play continuously or on a schedule. Its product update says files are stored in Gyre Storage and streams originate from Gyre servers, allowing you to turn off your computer. The product page shows tier-dependent allowances for simultaneous streams, storage and resolution, so check the tier against the number of channels or concurrent streams you actually need.
Gyre’s official product page displayed a seven-day free trial with one HD stream, 20 GB of storage, up to 15 files and a watermark when accessed on October 3, 2026. The vendor’s September 2026 update stated that paid plans then ranged from $49 to $169 per month. These are time-bound vendor terms, not guarantees of current pricing or inclusions; verify the live page before subscribing.

Limits and details to verify before you commit
Switchboard ingest protocols are documented inconsistently
Switchboard’s FAQ says the service supports RTMP ingest only, while a newer workflow support article lists RTMP, RTMPS and SRT. Because the official materials conflict, do not assume a protocol based on the general product description. Confirm the ingest choices available to your account with Switchboard before configuring an encoder.

Compare the limits that affect your actual setup
- Switchboard: check the current plan’s input and team-member allowances, whether 24/7 Streams are available to you, and how the FAQ’s 30-destination workflow limit relates to the pricing page’s unlimited-destinations description.
- Gyre: check concurrent streams, storage, resolution, file limits, watermark terms and billing period on the current plan page. The public page shows tier-specific allowances rather than one universal limit.
- Archiving: Switchboard’s FAQ says its described setup does not store or archive video. Do not treat either service as a substitute for a separately maintained archive unless its current terms explicitly cover your need.
YouTube eligibility and content rules still apply
Using a cloud service does not bypass YouTube’s channel or content requirements. YouTube Help says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check channel eligibility and the current rules before scheduling a long-running stream, regardless of whether the video is live-produced or prerecorded.
For prerecorded programming, make sure you have the rights needed for every video, music track, image and other element in the stream. A continuously repeated video is still content published through a YouTube live stream; the service running it does not grant rights or ensure that the content complies with YouTube policy.

Recommendation by use case
- Prerecorded video that should keep running on YouTube: StreamNeo first for cloud operation, uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and a free first day; Gyre is the direct alternative to evaluate for tier-specific cloud looping and scheduling.
- A live production that must reach multiple destinations: Switchboard Live, after confirming its current ingest protocol, plan allowances and whether its Enterprise 24/7 offering matches your setup.
- A continuous live encoder feed rather than a prerecorded loop: assess Switchboard’s 24/7 Streams availability and the encoder/network requirements; Gyre’s described workflow is built around prerecorded files.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay running at home; your upload streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start your StreamNeo free day.
