How does the combat and difficulty feel?
MeriStation reviewer Cristian Ciuraneta Catalán characterized the combat as Souls-like, and praised the range of options it offers. The same February 6, 2025 review calls the sequel a conservative continuation of the first game, and criticizes the difficulty selector as poorly balanced relative to that earlier title. Those are one critic’s judgments, not a measured consensus or a guarantee of how every player will experience the challenge.
The review also notes a larger emphasis on crafting and equipment management. That extra preparation can appeal if you like tuning your gear, but may feel like friction if you want the action to move from encounter to encounter with less menu work.

What does the Blood and Brine expansion add?
Blood and Brine is a free post-game expansion. PlayStation.Blog’s August 21, 2026 announcement says it sends Arlo from the frozen North to Hardshell Brook, a coastal region. It adds 11 quests, 10 new bosses, nine armour sets, new music and fishing with 32 aquatic creatures. You must finish the main campaign to access the adventure. The cited announcement confirms availability on PS4 and PS5; it does not establish release availability on other platforms.

Is Tails of Iron 2 worth playing?
It is a stronger fit for players drawn to Souls-like 2D combat and who are comfortable with crafting and gear management as part of the loop. The available review evidence supports a qualified recommendation rather than a universal verdict: MeriStation liked the combat options but objected to the difficulty balance and increased equipment overhead. If you are considering the sequel mainly for its campaign, that review’s 6–10-hour estimate is a useful point of reference, while Blood and Brine offers additional post-game quests for players who finish the story.
