The weapon-focused pack adds 21 magical weapons, which players can buy from blacksmiths or find as unidentified Wyrdnight loot and identify. It is separate from the game’s subsequent story DLC, Merlin’s Tomb.
What’s in the free March DLC?
Steam lists Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon – Bonus Content #2 as free, with a release date of 19 March 2026. The developer announcement says the pack contains 21 new magical weapons intended to broaden combat options and support different character builds. That count is the developer’s claim.

The announcement describes examples such as “one-shotting blades,” “burn-infused shields” and “flesh-ripping swords.” Those examples suggest a range of combat effects, but they are not a complete item list and do not establish that every weapon has one of those properties.
How to get the new weapons
The developer says there are two ways to acquire the pack’s weapons:

- CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON: Choose between seven different weapon families and over 30 unique Forge Scrolls, which allow almost infinite weapon combinations. Your choice of weapon will be crucial when facing your enemy!
- TACTICAL COMBAT: A unique and challenging combat system which allows you to attack specific body parts of the enemy. Slash, stab or bludgeon enemies depending on the situation and what the enemy is equipped with. Only the right weapon will allow you to overcome the enemy’s armour.
- YOU ARE NOT ALONE: Adso is Aran’s companion who will join him on his journey. During combat, Adso gives helpful tips how to defeat enemies by analysing them and taking notes in his chronicles. He will be crucial on your adventure, as he speaks the ancient forger language.
- Buy them from blacksmiths.
- Find unidentified loot during Wyrdnight, then identify it.
The announcement does not give a full weapon-by-weapon roster or further identification instructions. Its acquisition guidance is in the 19 March developer announcement, reproduced by SteamDB.
Is the March DLC Merlin’s Tomb?
No. Bonus Content #2 is the March weapon pack. A developer update on 19 March said a previously planned free content DLC had moved from the end of March to very early April, and described that later release as story content smaller than the full Sanctuary of Sarras expansion. Steam subsequently listed Merlin’s Tomb for 2 April 2026.

That distinction matters: the March release is not the story DLC or a full expansion. Sanctuary of Sarras is described by the official store as the game’s first full-fledged expansion, with its own story, areas, equipment and progression content.

The base game is an Arthurian-inspired dark fantasy open-world RPG with first- and third-person perspectives and a branching main story set centuries after Arthur’s fall, according to the official Tainted Grail store. Bonus Content #2 is a free addition to that game, rather than a paid expansion.

Steam’s DLC catalog also lists later free content releases: Challenge Mode on 30 April, Anniversary content on 22 May, and Bonus Content #4 on 20 July 2026. These are separate catalog entries; their dates and contents should not be confused with the 19 March weapons pack. Steam’s listing verifies the pack’s free status and release date, while storefront availability and packaging can vary by platform or region.
