PC Gamer’s guide dated 15 October 2026 places the reported chest in east Takashiro, at a rest area surrounded by pampas grass, southeast of Soni Circuit. The guide also points to a nearby brown pond bordered by long grass as a useful visual landmark. Completing the activity is reported to award 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP and three Season Progress.
Those details explain several apparently different complaints. A player may be looking for a chest before the weekly activity is active, interpreting a permanent Treasure Car marker as evidence of the seasonal hunt, searching the right region but the wrong patch of ground, or using a current game build with a stale playlist state. Treat each possibility separately instead of assuming every missing chest has the same cause.

Start with the Festival Playlist, not the map
Open the current Festival Playlist and look for the Takashiro Treasure Hunt entry. This check establishes whether the weekly objective belongs to the season currently loaded by your game.
- Open the Festival Playlist from the game’s main interface.
- Confirm that the current season contains an entry specifically for the Takashiro Treasure Hunt.
- Read the entry’s state before driving to the search area. If the hunt is not listed as active, a chest search cannot validate the activity.
- Do not use a permanent Treasure Car marker as a substitute for the seasonal entry. The two systems are separate.

2. Fully restart and reopen the playlist
- Exit Forza Horizon 6 completely rather than leaving it suspended.
- Launch the game again after the update check.
- Open the current Festival Playlist once more.
- Verify the Takashiro entry and its current clue state before returning to the map.
Reopening the playlist matters because the issue can be a stale display or completion state rather than a wrong driving route. If the entry changes after the restart, use the newly displayed state as your baseline and continue from there.
3. Drive to the reported search area
When the playlist shows the hunt and the clue points you toward Takashiro, travel to the east side of Takashiro, southeast of Soni Circuit. The reported chest location is a rest area surrounded by pampas grass. The nearby brown pond and long-grass patch are the most specific landmark described for the area.
Search the physical area rather than relying only on a small or ambiguous map symbol. The chest can reportedly be present even when the map marker is difficult to interpret. Approach the rest area from several angles and scan the pampas-grass patch around the landmark; the goal is to check the described location, not to infer a different chest from a permanent Treasure Car icon.
4. Recheck the clue before deciding the chest is missing
A clue that has not registered as complete is a different problem from a completed clue with no visible chest. Return to the Festival Playlist and establish which state you have:
- Hunt not listed: treat this as an activity or season-state problem and do not use the chest location as evidence yet.
- Hunt listed, clue not complete: verify the clue’s requirements and then return to the east-Takashiro rest area.
- Clue complete, chest not visible: perform the restart and location checks, then gather reproducible evidence if the chest remains absent.
Keeping those states separate prevents a completed-clue report from being mixed with a hunt that was never active.

How to search the east-Takashiro location
The location description is intentionally more useful than a broad “look in Takashiro” instruction. Begin southeast of Soni Circuit and identify the rest area in east Takashiro. Look for pampas grass surrounding the stop and the brown pond with long grass nearby.
Use landmarks when the marker is unclear
Map icons can be hard to interpret at driving distance or when several activities overlap. The brown pond-and-long-grass patch gives you a physical reference that does not depend on reading a small icon. Once you find that landmark, inspect the adjacent rest area and its pampas-grass surroundings rather than searching the entire region.
Do not substitute another treasure system
A permanent Treasure Car marker may lead you to a different activity. The Takashiro objective belongs to the seasonal Festival Playlist, so only the active weekly entry and its clue define the hunt you are trying to complete.
Record what you see
If the chest does not appear, note whether the clue is marked complete, whether the playlist entry remains active, and whether the area contains the described pond, long grass and rest stop. The distinction is practical: the map may reveal locations for the collectible categories it covers, but it does not turn a weekly Festival Playlist hunt into a permanently mapped activity. Do not present the Treasure Map as a missing prerequisite. The official product wording establishes that Seasonal Collectables in the Festival Playlist are outside its coverage.
