Tamagotchi Paradise is still an active-care virtual pet, not a stress-free or hands-off toy. Its nature-forward fields and zoom dial broaden the routine: players care for a character, tend its surroundings, and explore from cellular to cosmic scales. Bandai describes the care as “busier than ever,” while presenting biodiversity as one of the ideas behind the product.

What you do in Tamagotchi Paradise

The central loop is familiar virtual-pet care with a wider setting. Bandai’s Japanese Pink Land product listing describes caring for a newly hatched character by feeding it, cleaning waste from its field, and treating diseased cells. The listing also names Lab Mode activities, including mini-games, shopping, and a picture book.

Use the zoom dial to change scale

The zoom dial shifts play between very different scales, from cellular to cosmic. Rather than replacing caretaking, it adds ways to interact with the creature and its world. Bandai says both the environment and care choices affect which characters grow.

Fields, growth, and connecting devices

The first-wave Japanese listing names Land, Water, and Sky fields. Each of the Pink Land, Blue Water, and Purple Sky versions starts in the field named by its edition. Bandai’s US Purple Sky listing says connecting with friends’ devices unlocks the other two fields. Bandai also says compatible device docking can produce a child.

Tamagotchi Paradise - Orange Tropics
  • ZOOM. Nurture with a spin! Zoom into Paradise! Turn the dial to take care of your Tama. Zoom from cell to space for traditional nurturing play - clean the poop, feed them delicious food and make them feel better! Play new mini games and nurturing activities and shop in the new LAB MODE.
  • CHARACTERS. Raise more than 50,000 Tamas. Depending on the environment and the way you take care of your Tama, you can grow over 50 different characters in 12 species, with over 30 new Tamas. Plus, BREED play creates more Tamas by bringing parent's genes to the next generation.
  • CONNECT. Connect with friend's device directly to see how your Tamas interact - is it a good match or a bad match? And, now, when you connect, you can play games with or against your friend! ** Please note that the connect mini-game is not available in "Tamagotchi Paradise - Pink Land / Blue Water / Purple Sky / Jade Forest.” **
  • THREE FIELDS. Start in the Tropics field and unlock the Glacier and Forest fields for different play and Tamas. Plus, purchase are expansions to expand the field!
  • AND MORE. The Orange Tropics device has a pretty pink shell with orange top, dial and buttons

Is Tamagotchi Paradise relaxing?

Its fields, varied creatures, and nature theme can suggest a gentler, nature-preserve style of play. Bandai has also said it wanted children to take an interest in Earth’s biodiversity as well as the importance of life. That is a stated development aim, not evidence that the toy reduces stress.

In fact, Bandai’s product page calls care “busier than ever.” The available official product descriptions do not establish a no-pressure mode or a stress-relief benefit. If you want a virtual pet that asks for little attention, Paradise’s nature theme alone is not a reason to expect one.

Which Tamagotchi Paradise version should you choose?

Start by choosing the field you want to begin in, then check whether a communication mini-game matters to you. Shell color is not the only distinction: the newer Orange Tropics edition adds features that the first-wave versions do not have.

Edition Starting field Other fields and communication features Regional price and release details
Pink Land Land Bandai says compatible friend-device connections unlock the other two fields. The communication mini-game added in Orange Tropics is not available on this edition. Bandai’s Japanese listing gives ¥6,380 including tax. US listings show a $44.99 MSRP for first-wave editions; local prices and availability may differ.
Blue Water Water Part of the first wave. Bandai says Orange Tropics’ communication mini-game is not available on this edition. US listing: $44.99 MSRP. Local prices and availability may differ.
Purple Sky Sky Bandai’s US listing says connecting with friends’ devices unlocks the other two fields. Orange Tropics’ communication mini-game is not available on this edition. US listing: $44.99 MSRP. Local prices and availability may differ.
Orange Tropics Southern Paradise Bandai Japan lists cooperative and competitive communication mini-games and a field expansion function. Its page says the communication mini-game is not available on Pink Land, Blue Water, Purple Sky, or Jade Forest. Bandai Japan lists a July 11, 2026 release. Price is not stated in the cited listing.

The version details and first-wave distinctions come from Bandai’s Japanese Paradise listing, its US Purple Sky listing, and its Orange Tropics announcement. The Japanese Orange Tropics page identifies the communication mini-game limitation; features and availability can vary by regional SKU, so check the local listing before buying.

What Bandai says Paradise is for

Bandai reported 98.1 million cumulative Tamagotchi units shipped as of March 2025. In a 2025 company announcement, it also said Paradise reservations exceeded four times Tamagotchi Uni’s preorder count after reservations opened on May 21, 2025. That is a comparison of reservation counts, not final sales. The same announcement said worldwide sales of Tamagotchi-related goods over five years were about seven times the 2019 level; Bandai excluded games from that merchandise figure, so it is not a measure of Paradise device sales.

Planner and developer Chisato Aoyagi described the biodiversity aim in Japanese. A close English rendering of the relevant clause is that the team hoped children would take an interest in Earth’s biodiversity as well as the importance of life; Bandai’s source does not provide an official English translation. Bandai’s 2025 company announcement provides the company figures and statement.
