Team Jade’s announced shooter Project Spectrum is a PvEvP horror game built around monsters, rival players, and a sanity system—not a confirmed response to cheating in Delta Force. The reveal gives a premise and several gameplay ideas, but does not establish a release date, platforms, or which anti-cheat technology the new game will use.
What is Project Spectrum?
Project Spectrum is an upcoming shooter from Team Jade, the studio behind Delta Force. It was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025. PC Gamer described it as a “tactical thriller shooter,” while the reveal framed it as a PvEvP psychological-horror game. Those are announcement descriptions, not hands-on impressions.
The setting is a world changed by the Ember, described as a “radiant, reality-warping force.” Team Jade’s studio description, as quoted by PC Gamer, says: “Everything it touches—cities, landscapes, even life itself—is transformed in unknowable ways, leaving behind dangerous regions called Ember Zones.”
What does the reveal say you do in the game?
You play as an Operator and direct customizable Agents on missions to gather intelligence, neutralize threats, and investigate the Ember. The announced ingredients include team synergy, environmental awareness, improvised crafting, and a Sanity resource. The reveal also describes powerful Executioners controlled by other players.

At Opening Night Live, host Geoff Keighley called it a “physiological horror PvEvP game, where you battle against monsters, other players, and your own sanity, as widespread anomalies twist around the world.” The unusual word “physiological” is part of the quoted description; PC Gamer’s broader characterization of the game is psychological horror.
What PvEvP means here
PvEvP combines player-versus-environment threats with player-versus-player conflict. In the reveal’s description, that means facing monsters and hazardous conditions as well as other players. The announced Executioners add a specific player-controlled threat, but the available reveal coverage does not explain the full match structure or how encounters work in practice.

Is Project Spectrum an extraction shooter, and is it playable?
The reveal material supports calling it a PvEvP horror shooter, but does not establish enough detail to confidently classify its full format as an extraction shooter. It describes missions and gathering intelligence, without providing a complete account of objectives, match flow, or extraction rules. No hands-on findings are available in the cited reveal coverage, so the announced systems should not be treated as confirmed final gameplay.
Does Project Spectrum have a release date, platforms, or confirmed anti-cheat?
The cited announcement coverage does not confirm a release date, platforms, current development status, or anti-cheat implementation. It also does not say that Project Spectrum will use Delta Force’s Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE). The two games’ connection through Team Jade is not evidence that they share security software.

Why does the Delta Force comparison mention cheaters?
The comparison draws on documented player concerns about Delta Force’s ACE anti-cheat, rather than evidence that Project Spectrum has a scarier tone or better cheating controls. In a December 24, 2024 PCGamesN interview, game design director Ricky Liao discussed complaints about ACE’s kernel-level operation and privacy implications. The article also reported that ACE had previously remained installed after uninstalling the game, and said that behavior had been fixed by the time of publication. That is dated reporting about the early game period, not a current verification of the software’s behavior.
Liao defended kernel-level detection, saying: “If we don’t run on a kernel level, we don’t really have the ability to detect and counter [cheat software] and this also applies to all sorts of hardware cheating tools.” PCGamesN reported his statement that the company had taken privacy measures and invited auditing companies to perform regular audits. Those are the developer’s position and claims; the interview does not independently establish ACE’s safety, effectiveness, or the prevalence of cheating.

A June 30, 2026 Xbox Wire feature by Delta Force PR & Communications Manager Joe Meng describes the game’s Warfare, Operations, PvE Raid, and Black Hawk Down modes. It also repeats the publisher’s stated position that its G.T.I. security anti-cheat team proactively targets and removes cheaters. That description is the publisher’s account, not an independent measurement of results.

So “scarier than Delta Force cheaters” works as a headline comparison between a horror premise and a contentious anti-cheat history. It is not a measured ranking of horror, cheating, or security. The reveal establishes the former game’s concept; the reporting on ACE supplies background about the latter game’s controversy, not proof that Project Spectrum has solved or inherited it.
