EA SPORTS FC 25 Team of the Year (TOTY) was a January 2025 Ultimate Team campaign celebrating standout performances from the 2024 calendar year. It featured separate men’s and women’s XIs, additional 12th-player selections, special items and other Ultimate Team content; its scheduled full-roster pack window ran from January 23 to January 31, 2025.
The campaign is now historical: FC 25 has been superseded by later editions, so these dates describe the 2025 event, not current pack availability. EA said the final selection combined EA and community votes, and the TOTY items were the first in that year’s game to feature three PlayStyle+ attributes. EA’s FC 25 news and campaign announcements provide the official details.

12th players and Honourable Mentions
Cristiano Ronaldo was selected as the men’s 12th player, and Khadija Shaw as the women’s 12th player. Each was an additional selection, not a replacement within the original 11-player XI.
EA’s campaign pages displayed Jamal Musiala, Lionel Messi, Federico Valverde, Nico Williams, Jeremie Frimpong, Antonio Rüdiger, Mike Maignan, Erling Haaland and Florian Wirtz among the Honourable Mentions, and also displayed Lindsey Horan and Giulia Gwinn. The captured official page text does not clearly separate all Honourable Mentions by gender, so these names should not be treated as a complete gender-specific roster.
FC 25 TOTY release schedule
EA released the player groups in stages. The pack pool changed as each group arrived, before the full men’s and women’s rosters became available.

These are historical dates, not a guide to what is in packs now. EA also announced campaign objectives and Evolution timing, including Team of the Year Cup Evolutions from January 20, additional daily-play progress from January 24 and the TOTY Draft Objective Group from January 25.
What was included in the TOTY campaign?
The promotion extended beyond the men’s and women’s XI items. EA’s campaign included TOTY ICONs, Squad Building Challenges, Objectives, Rush content and Flashback SBC players commemorating previous TOTY winners. It also featured an Honourable Mentions Evolution chain for a central-defender item.
That Evolution had six stages and required the same player to remain eligible through the chain. Completing all six produced a 92-rated item. EA also offered a free 90-rated Zinedine Zidane TOTY Eras 2002 ICON item to users who logged into Ultimate Team by February 14, 2025; EA Club Members could use an Evolution to take it to 94 overall. These were campaign-specific offers, not current availability.

What made FC 25 TOTY items different?
EA described the TOTY items as the first items in FC 25 to feature three PlayStyle+ attributes. That is the clearest source-backed distinction in their item design. The campaign selected players for their 2024 performances through a fan-influenced process; it does not establish a universal ranking of the best cards or prove specific match outcomes.
Whether an item suited a particular squad depended on the player’s needs and the item available in-game. Without dated gameplay testing or market data, claims about a card being unbeatable, its price being worthwhile, or a pack strategy guaranteeing better results should be treated cautiously.
