Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf Techno Banter closes to the dashboard or freezes on Xbox Series X|S, update the game and console, then try a full power cycle; if that fails, reinstall the game. Those are general Xbox crash steps, not a confirmed fix for a Techno Banter-specific crash. The game-specific fix documented by its developer addressed dialogue and progression softlocks—not general Xbox crashes—so first check whether the game actually crashed or dialogue simply stopped advancing.
First, identify what “crashing” means
The right next step depends on what you see. A game closing to the dashboard, a full console freeze, and dialogue that will not advance are different problems. The published Techno Banter-specific evidence concerns progression and dialogue softlocks; it does not establish a cause or fix for a general Xbox crash.
| What happens | What to try |
|---|---|
| The game closes or returns to the Xbox dashboard | Update the game and console, power-cycle the console, and, if needed, reinstall the game. These are general Xbox game-troubleshooting steps, not a guaranteed Techno Banter fix. |
| The picture or console freezes | Try the same update and power-cycle steps. If the console itself remains unresponsive or the problem affects other games, follow Microsoft’s broader support guidance. |
| The game stays open, but a dialogue scene will not continue | Try the developer’s historical button workaround if it matches your situation, and make sure the game has the February 2025 progression hotfix. |
If the game closes or freezes
KOEI TECMO’s Xbox Series X|S support guidance recommends checking the network connection, power-cycling the console, and reinstalling the game when a game crashes or behaves abnormally. This is general platform troubleshooting, not a diagnosis of Techno Banter. See KOEI TECMO’s Xbox Series X|S troubleshooting guidance.
- Check for updates. Install any available update for Techno Banter and check for an Xbox system update. The developer announced a Techno Banter hotfix on February 3, 2025, but the current Xbox build or version was not verified here.
- Power-cycle the Xbox. Shut the console down fully, disconnect its power, wait briefly, reconnect it, and start it again. This is different from simply putting the console into sleep mode.
- Test your network connection. Check whether the Xbox is connected normally, then see whether the same symptom persists.
- Reinstall Techno Banter if the problem continues. KOEI TECMO’s support article says reinstalling does not delete saved data. Confirm your save has synced before considering any broader console reset; that article does not recommend a console reset as a Techno Banter-specific fix.
If dialogue stops advancing
If the game remains open but a conversation or explanation gets stuck, the symptom may be a progression softlock rather than a crash. Crunching Koalas announced a hotfix on February 3, 2025, for progression issues, including controller selection of certain dialogue options, a softlock after using skills without enough hype, and being unable to progress through the Red Flags explanation during a dialogue with Gunthy. The announcement does not say that the update fixed general Xbox crashes. Read Crunching Koalas’ hotfix announcement.

Try the historical controller workaround only where it applies
In a developer community post dated February 3, 2025, the team suggested pressing A on Xbox (or X on PlayStation) for certain stuck dialogue situations, including after using a skill without sufficient hype and after using Soothing Words in some encounters. The post said this workaround did not resolve the Red Flags issue while a hotfix was in progress. It is a limited, historical workaround—not a fix for every softlock or a confirmed crash. See the developer’s softlock workaround post.

If multiple games crash, or Xbox functions beyond Techno Banter are failing, check for console updates and use Microsoft’s official support and repair guidance. Microsoft’s instructions cover checking updates and testing console functions, games, connectivity, and peripherals. A problem limited to one game does not by itself show that the console needs repair. Consult Microsoft’s Xbox Series X Digital Console safety and repair instructions. Do not open the console or buy repair parts based on a single game crash.
