It chains several quick strikes into a final hit that calls down a Shocking bolt; its damage conversion and Shock bonuses change across the sequence.
What Tempest Flurry does
PoE2DB classifies Tempest Flurry as an Attack with AoE, Melee, Strike and Lightning tags. It is a Tier 5 skill and requires a quarterstaff. Its attacks form a four-use sequence:
- The first and second uses perform normal strikes.
- The third use strikes three times.
- The fourth use delivers a final strike and calls down a Shocking bolt.
The sequence matters: the third and fourth uses have slower attack speed modifiers than the normal strikes, while the final strike has stronger listed Shock properties.
Damage conversion and Shock effects

These percentages are skill parameters in PoE2DB’s current listing, not a guarantee of a particular damage total or Shock duration. Actual output also depends on the character, weapon, supports, target and game version.

Damage and mana scale with gem level
PoE2DB lists attack damage at 45–140% of base attack damage and mana cost at 5–37 across gem levels 1–20. Those are level ranges, not one fixed value: check the displayed gem level when comparing the skill with another attack or planning mana use.
How to get Tempest Flurry
The skill wiki says Tempest Flurry is obtained by engraving an Uncut Skill Gem. Game8’s guide, updated December 26, 2025, says to use an Uncut Skill Gem of level 5 or higher in the Gemcutting menu. Because that threshold comes from a secondary guide and acquisition rules can change, confirm the level requirement and available choice in the current client before spending a gem.

Is Tempest Flurry worth using?
The listed mechanics make it a lightning-converting quarterstaff combo with a Shock-focused final hit. They do not establish that it is a top-performing skill or the best choice for a particular build. A useful comparison should hold patch, character class and ascendancy, gem level, weapon, supports and target type (clear or single target) constant. No current, independently validated best setup is established by the available build evidence.
