Terraria for Windows is available through its Steam listing. Steam describes it as a sandbox game with randomly generated worlds and free content updates. The store’s listed minimum is 2.5 GB of memory and 200 MB of disk space, but those game requirements do not mean today’s Steam client supports every older Windows version shown on the listing.

Can my PC run Terraria?
Steam lists the following Windows requirements. These are storefront specifications, not performance benchmarks for a particular modern computer.
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, or 10 | 7, 8/8.1, or 10 |
| Processor | 2.0 GHz | Dual-core 3.0 GHz |

Important Windows caveat: Steam separately says its client supports Windows 10 and later starting January 1, 2024. So although the game listing still names older Windows versions, that does not establish that the current Steam client will run on them. Check Steam’s current client requirements before relying on an older Windows installation.
