What is The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales?
Square Enix describes the game as an action RPG from the creators of OCTOPATH TRAVELER and BRAVELY DEFAULT. It brings the publisher’s HD-2D visual style to action-adventure gameplay; it is not a turn-based RPG. The game launched on June 18, 2026, according to Square Enix and Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing. What is the story about?
The adventure begins in the Kingdom of Huther, humanity’s refuge on a continent overrun by beast tribes. Elliot leaves the kingdom with Faie, a fairy companion, to explore the land’s history. The official descriptions frame their journey as a thousand-year mission connected to the intertwined fates of Elliot and Faie. Square Enix’s Japanese product page specifies that they pass through four ages to lift a curse afflicting Princess Heuria. The Japanese product page gives that more detailed story framing.
How does gameplay work?
Combat is action-based, with Elliot fighting using weapons while Faie provides support through fairy magic. The official descriptions also connect magic to puzzle-solving, so Faie’s abilities serve both combat and exploration rather than functioning only as a damage tool.

Weapons and customization
Square Enix’s official store listing describes seven weapon types, with Elliot able to carry up to two at once. Magicite combinations let players customize his weapons. These are publisher-described features, not conclusions from independent gameplay testing. The North American collector’s edition listing includes the game’s official feature description.
Four ages to explore
The story moves across four historical ages. This time-spanning structure is part of the premise: Elliot and Faie investigate the past as they pursue the mission tied to Huther and the curse on Princess Heuria.
What changed after the debut demo?
Square Enix says it gathered survey responses after the debut demo released in July 2025 and implemented requested and representative improvements in both the full game and a prologue demo. The publisher does not give a response count or a quantitative breakdown on its game page, so the feedback cannot be described more precisely from the published information.

Platforms, performance and file size
Square Enix lists versions for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows and Steam. Its UK product page publishes the following performance targets; they are publisher specifications, not independent test results.

Switch 2 file-size listings differ: Nintendo’s US store lists 14.5 GB, while Square Enix’s UK page estimates 16.6 GB. The pages do not explain the discrepancy; check the listing for your region and platform before downloading. Nintendo also lists TV, tabletop and handheld play, and one-to-two players on one system. Square Enix’s UK page provides its platform specifications.

Language support varies by region and platform. Square Enix’s UK page lists English, UK English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Its Japanese page says the Switch 2 and PS5 versions include Japanese, English, French, Italian, German and Spanish; Xbox, Windows and Steam additionally include traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese and Korean. The Square Enix store lists English and Japanese voice tracks. Confirm the languages available on the platform store in your region before buying.

Nintendo’s US store lists a Digital Deluxe Upgrade DLC item for $10.00. That is a region-specific store price and may change.
Collector’s Edition
Square Enix’s North American store describes a Collector’s Edition containing a copy of the game, a Digital Deluxe Upgrade code, a four-disc original soundtrack CD set and a Faie and the Door of Time desktop clock. The store identifies the set as exclusive to the Square Enix Store and available in limited quantities; current stock may change. The clock takes one LR44 button cell, which is not included. Square Enix says the soundtrack is planned for separate sale later, but the listing does not establish whether that release is now available.
