The Battle Cats’ tenth-anniversary investigation was a completed 2024 in-game mystery promotion called Mission Impawsible, not an open vote in 2026. Players followed clues, accused one of 10 suspects, and the campaign ultimately identified Doge as the saboteur.
What was the Battle Cats anniversary investigation?
Mission Impawsible was a spy-themed campaign for the English edition of The Battle Cats’ tenth anniversary. Its fictional premise was that sabotage had disrupted the celebrations, and players were recruited as Cat Intelligence Agents to investigate. Pocket Gamer described it as a deliberately self-aware mystery; the in-world announcement about fixing the machines was campaign fiction, not a real PONOS investigation. Pocket Gamer’s campaign coverage
PONOS worked with R/GA on the promotion. Rather than keeping the central action on an external campaign site, the partners placed the voting system inside the game, while clues also appeared across the game and social channels. Campaign Brief Asia’s report
How did voting work?
Players followed clues about 10 suspicious cats, then submitted an accusation through the in-game voting mechanic. The accusation window reported by Campaign Brief Asia ran from October 7 through October 14, 2024. The Stable reported that accusations were associated with a US$0.99 charge and that the historical reward was five Rare Tickets for a correct guess or three for an incorrect one. Those details describe the 2024 promotion; they are not a current offer or price. The Stable’s October 2024 account

Who was the saboteur?
The mystery concluded with Doge named as the fictional culprit, while Mohawk Cat was found safe, The Stable reported on October 29, 2024. The outcome was part of the campaign story, not a real-world criminal investigation.

What did the campaign report about participation?

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why put the promotion inside the game?
PONOS managing director Seiichiro Sano told Campaign Brief Asia that integrating the vote into the game was intended to engage core players. R/GA’s Global Head of Creative Excellence Ari Halper framed the approach as a way to make the promotion entertaining rather than rely on familiar retail-style sales messaging. Those explanations describe the goals of this campaign, not a general finding about game marketing.
