For a Halloween party with guests coming and going, Scream the Game is the clearest fit: it accommodates three to nine players and takes about 20 minutes. For a seated group, choose by the time you can spare and whether you want cooperative play or a slasher-style contest. One important price note: the discounts reported in October 2025 are historical, and no current October 2026 discount for these games has been verified.
Choose a game around your party, not just its theme
Player count and play time matter more at a party than a game’s Halloween branding. A quick game can suit a changing crowd; a three-hour app-driven mystery needs guests willing to settle in. Play format matters, too: cooperative games put players on the same side, while asymmetrical horror can make one person the threat and everyone else try to escape.
| Game | Players and time | Play format and party fit |
|---|---|---|
| Scream the Game | 3–9 players; about 20 minutes | Quick licensed horror party game; optional app audio. Strongest fit for a larger group or drop-in play. |
| Halloween the Board Game | 2–4 players; roughly an hour | One player is Michael Myers while the others cooperate to escape; likely better for a small, seated group than a large party. |
| Halloween II the Board Game | Same gameplay format as the original, according to GameSpot | Similar asymmetrical slasher setup with new content, as described by the source; check the edition and rules before buying. |
| Alien: Fate of the Nostromo | About an hour | Cooperative science-fiction horror with difficulty scaling and unique objectives; better for a group that wants a shared challenge than a competitive party game. |
| Mansions of Madness Second Edition | 1–5 players; average three hours; ages 14+ | App-driven cooperative horror and mystery; its length and app reliance make it a poor match for casual drop-in play. |
| Don’t Go In There | 2–5 players; average 30 minutes; ages 14+ | Haunted-house push-your-luck game; a short option for a small group, though the publisher page showed it sold out when checked. |
| Camp Grizzly: Second Edition | 1–6 players; duration not stated by the publisher source | Semi-cooperative survival horror; the publisher’s site showed it sold out and directed shoppers to its official Amazon store. |
Specifications and historical deal context come from GameSpot’s October 29, 2025 board-game deals article and the publishers’ pages for Mansions of Madness, Don’t Go In There, and Trick or Treat Studios games. Availability can change; check the listing for the edition and seller as well as stock.
Match the pick to the way your guests want to play
For a crowd that may rotate in and out: Scream the Game
Its reported three-to-nine-player range and roughly 20-minute sessions make it the most flexible option here for a larger gathering. The optional app audio adds an extra effect, but is not necessary to the basic party-game recommendation. Check the current product listing for what is included and whether the app is supported on your devices.

For a small group that wants a slasher matchup: Halloween or Halloween II
Halloween the Board Game puts one player in Michael Myers’s role while the others cooperate to escape. At two to four players and roughly an hour, it asks for a more settled group than a quick party game. GameSpot described Halloween II the Board Game as using the same gameplay format with new content; treat that as a summary, not a substitute for checking the specific edition’s rules.
For cooperation without a marathon: Alien: Fate of the Nostromo
Expect around an hour for this cooperative science-fiction horror game. GameSpot notes difficulty scaling and unique objectives, plus an online tutorial, which may help a group get oriented. It is a natural pick when guests prefer working together against the game over taking opposing roles.

- A 1 vs Many game by renowned designer Emerson Matsuuchi.
- Focus on hidden movement mechanics and escaping as a bystander, or hunting them down as Mike Myers!
For a longer, app-led game night: Mansions of Madness Second Edition
Asmodee describes it as “a fully cooperative, app-driven board game of horror and mystery for one to five players.” Its listed average play time is three hours, and its age rating is 14+. The app-driven format and length suit a dedicated seated session better than a party where guests arrive late or leave early. The official store page showed sold out when checked, so confirm availability with retailers.
For a shorter haunted-house gamble: Don’t Go In There
This push-your-luck game is listed for two to five players, ages 14+, with a 30-minute average play time. It can fit a short session better than a sprawling mystery, but its official store page showed sold out when checked; do not assume it is readily available just because a page remains online.

- ADULT CARD GAME FOR GAME NIGHT - Don’t Get Stabbed! is an adult party game where you get to kill your family and friends! ... for pretend of course. It’s inspired by horror movies of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, but is light-hearted enough for everyone to enjoy. The ultimate Halloween game!
- COMPETITIVE & EASY TO LEARN - This entertaining game is playable for 3 to 5 players. One person is elected as the killer (whoever is the most evil in your group) and the rest are victims. The killer wins by killing all the victims. The victims win by escaping.
- HILARIOUS & REPLAYABLE- The average player will love this game for its gameplay! The horror fan will love the art on many of these cards which features classic horror movie tropes. There is tons of fun in playing this game and in its artwork.
- ADULT PARTY GAME – It may look cute, but like most horror movies it has topics you probably don’t want your children knowing about. For ages 18+.
- WHAT’S IN THE BOX?! – Included in the box are 64 Main Deck Cards and 13 Car Deck Cards printed on premium glossy playing cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches), for a grand total of 77 cards. Also included is one instruction booklet.
For semi-cooperative survival horror: Camp Grizzly Second Edition
The publisher describes Camp Grizzly: Second Edition as semi-cooperative and lists one to six players. That makes it a possible middle ground for a group that wants to face a slasher scenario without pure team play. The publisher’s site showed the game sold out and pointed shoppers to its official Amazon store; verify that a listing is the second edition and is actually in stock.

Those figures are useful only as dated reference points. A current listing can have a different price, seller, edition, or stock status, and an old “was” price does not establish today’s value. Before treating a listing as a deal, check the exact game and edition, seller, shipping cost, availability, and the current price against a recent price history if one is available. GameSpot also disclosed that it may earn revenue through affiliate and advertising partnerships and purchases made through its links.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to shop without mistaking a listing for a deal
- Pick the game that fits your group. Use player count and session time first; then decide between cooperative play, asymmetrical play, and a quick party format.
- Confirm the exact edition. Pay attention to “Second Edition” where applicable, and compare the product contents rather than relying only on a similar title or cover.
- Check current stock and seller. A publisher page marked sold out or a retailer listing without available stock is not a purchasable deal. For marketplace listings, check who is selling the game.
- Compare the total price. Include delivery charges and confirm that any displayed discount applies to the same edition and condition you intend to buy.
- Check app requirements where relevant. For app-driven games, confirm device compatibility and plan for guests to share the screen or follow the app as the game requires.
Retailers that carry board games vary by region, and general sale coverage does not verify a particular horror title’s stock. Check the retailer directly for the listing you intend to buy rather than assuming a seasonal promotion applies.
