Instead, choose by the experience you want next: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for 2D action, The World Ends With You for unusual touch-led RPG combat, or Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for a puzzle mystery.

If you want 2D action: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Of these three, Dawn of Sorrow is the most straightforward pick for a player seeking side-scrolling action. Its protagonist, Soma Cruz, infiltrates a cult’s base, battles enemies, and collects their souls to acquire attacks. That makes it a natural option if you want an action-focused game with abilities earned from foes—not proof that it follows or closely resembles the unnamed Konami classic.
Nintendo’s listing describes wireless item-swapping as a feature of the original release. Treat that as historical product information, not confirmation that the service is available today. The listing identifies the physical version as a Nintendo DS Game Card.
If you want experimental RPG combat: The World Ends With You
The World Ends With You offers a very different kind of next step: an RPG set in Tokyo where combat uses both DS screens. Attacks are activated through stylus movements or microphone commands, making the handheld’s controls central to the experience. Pick it for its distinctive, hands-on combat and story centered on Neku, rather than for a presumed connection to the Konami game.

Nintendo states that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was discontinued on 20 May 2014, and online features for Nintendo DS and DSi software are no longer available. Don’t count on online play, matchmaking, competitions, or leaderboards.
If you want a puzzle mystery: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Ghost Trick shifts away from action and RPG combat. Its story follows Sissel, a murdered amnesiac who returns as a ghost. You investigate by possessing and manipulating objects, using logic puzzles to uncover events and avert deaths. It’s the clearest choice here if what you want next is a story-driven mystery; the available product information doesn’t establish a direct resemblance to the unidentified Konami title.

Nintendo’s UK announcement identifies Shu Takumi, creator of the Ace Attorney series, as the game’s creator and gives 14 January 2011 as its scheduled European Nintendo DS release date.
