What to know about Amazon’s October 2026 sale
Amazon calls the event Prime Big Deal Days, though shoppers may use “Prime Day” as shorthand. Amazon says the event runs for 48 hours, October 6–7, and is exclusive to Prime members. It covers more than 35 categories, and offers are available only while supplies last.
Amazon vice president of North America Marketing and Prime Tech Carmen Nestares said: “Once fall arrives, there’s so much to get ready for—the hosting, the decorating, the holiday gifting—and Prime Big Deal Days makes it easy to check it all off while saving,” Amazon said in its event announcement.

Is the Switch 2 console or bundle on sale?
Nintendo’s US retail offers page lists the Switch 2 plus Mario Kart World bundle at $529.99 and names Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart as participating retailers. Nintendo says availability is limited and calculated savings may vary; its savings comparison is based on buying the system, game, and membership separately. Compare the live total and bundle contents at each retailer rather than assuming the listed bundle price is an Amazon Prime Big Deal Days discount.

The same Nintendo page lists a newer Switch Sports Resort bundle as available October 22, after the October 6–7 sale window. That is not a Prime Big Deal Days offer for this event.
UK prices are not US prices
For UK shoppers, TechRadar reported an Amazon UK Switch 2 listing at £354.99, down from a £419.99 reference price, on October 5, 2026. This is a UK-specific dated report—not a US price or a guarantee of the current UK listing. Check the TechRadar report and current Amazon UK checkout price before relying on it.

- Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
- Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.
How to check whether a deal is actually worthwhile
- Open the live product listing and check the current checkout price, stock, and delivery date; sale coverage can go stale and Amazon says offers last only while supplies last.
- Compare the same game edition or accessory model across retailers. Check the seller and condition, whether a game is a cartridge or download format, and the exact bundle contents.
- For accessories, confirm Switch 2 compatibility and the precise storage card model or capacity rather than assuming a similarly named product is equivalent.
- Include any membership requirement in the comparison. Prime Big Deal Days offers are Prime-member-exclusive, while Nintendo’s bundle page names multiple participating retailers.
Nintendo Wire’s dated roundup is useful for identifying listings to check, but its reported prices should be treated as leads, not stable recommendations.
