Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat should you do first in Blue Prince? Don’t rush straight north toward the Antechamber. Build a winding route through the lower ranks, inspect each room for useful resources, and record clues as you find them. You’ll be better prepared for the mansion’s locked doors and puzzles without spoiling the search for Room 46.
Why a direct route north can stall
Blue Prince is a puzzle and room-drafting game about exploring a changing mansion in search of its hidden Room 46. Heading north may look like the quickest way toward the Antechamber, but higher ranks bring locked doors and room-connection constraints. PC Gamer’s beginner guide, last updated March 3, 2026, recommends taking a winding route and gathering keys and gems before pushing into those ranks.

How to use your early drafts
-
Draft a route that gives you room to explore
Favor a connected, winding path through lower ranks over a narrow march north. The right choice depends on the rooms and resources available in your current draft; the goal is to keep options open while working toward the Antechamber.
-
Look closely for resources
Inspect rooms rather than assuming every useful tool or small resource will be highlighted. PC Gamer specifically advises checking for items that can be easy to overlook.

Blue Prince Day One Edition - PlayStation 5- DRAFTING YOUR JOURNEY - Upon reaching a closed door in Mt. Holly, you decide what room appears behind it and each decision shapes your path as you navigate through the manor. Every door can reveal new and exciting chambers that contain their own unique challenges and secrets. But be careful how you draft, for each day the manor’s floor plan resets and the rooms you saw today may not be the same rooms you see tomorrow.
- EVERY STEP COUNTS - Your progress each day is shaped by the rooms you select to draft and the tools you find within them. Items in the game can be used in a number of creative ways to fuel your exploration deeper into the house, allowing you to adopt unique strategies to combat the challenges that each day brings.
- A HISTORY IN THE MAKING - As the heir of Mt. Holly, you have been tasked to explore its shifting halls in search of Room 46. Yet as your journey takes you further into the mansion’s depths, you start to discover that there is more lurking under the surface than a missing room. Investigate a past woven with the threads of blackmail, political intrigue, and the mysterious disappearance of a local children’s book author.
- DAY ONE EDITION BONUSES - Pack-in bonuses include 18” x 12” fold-out poster of the magnificent Mt. Holly Manor and a download code for the official game soundtrack.
-
Record clues as you find them
Write down codes, observations, and suspicious details, or take screenshots. A clue in one room or on one day may become meaningful later, and relying on memory alone makes those connections harder to track. A notebook is optional; any reliable way to preserve what you notice will do.
What this tip does—and doesn’t—mean
Exploring lower ranks first is a general beginner approach, not a fixed route that every run must follow. Your available rooms and resources shape the best draft. Keep the principle simple: collect what may help, preserve what you learn, and avoid committing to a difficult northward push before you have options.
