Announced on June 10, 2024, it centered on three seasons—First Rogue, Shades of Red, and Burden of Truth—alongside a level-40 access change, a redesigned seasonal journey, and a planned Brooklyn story DLC. The biggest practical change for players: Ubisoft said base-game owners could reach level 40 and play level-40 endgame content without buying Warlords of New York.
What was The Division 2 Year 6?
Ubisoft presented Year 6 as a transformation of the game’s endgame and seasons. Its June 10, 2024 roadmap named three planned seasons and five major priorities: One Endgame, Seasons 2.0, Manhunt 2.0, expanded player expression, and a new story DLC set in Brooklyn. First Rogue was scheduled to begin June 11, 2024. Ubisoft’s Year 6 roadmap
Year 6 is now a historical roadmap and season cycle. Ubisoft’s game page showed 2026 season and event updates when checked, so the Year 6 announcements should not be read as a description of the current live season. Ubisoft’s current The Division 2 page
Did you need Warlords of New York for Year 6?
No—not for the announced level-40 cap or access to level-40 endgame activities. Ubisoft’s One Endgame change let all owners of The Division 2 reach level 40 without buying Warlords of New York. Ubisoft listed seasons, Manhunts, Incursions, Countdown, raids, and other level-40 endgame content among the activities available.

The same announcement said World Tiers and Gear Score were removed, specializations unlocked at level 30, and level-40 features—including targeted loot, global difficulty, raids, and legacy Manhunts—became available. Ubisoft recommended completing Warlords of New York before legacy Manhunts to experience those stories in the intended order. Ubisoft’s First Rogue announcement
What changed with Seasons 2.0 and Manhunt 2.0?
Seasons began with a separate seasonal character
The roadmap described seasonal characters that started at level 1 and used accelerated progression toward level 40. Objectives and projects were intended to guide the journey while introducing season mechanics gradually. Ubisoft said seasonal modifiers would alter the season’s playstyle; at season’s end, earned XP and rewards would transfer to main characters, and the seasonal character would join the player’s roster. These were the announced design and transfer rules.

Season 2 showed the journey structure
In Shades of Red, Ubisoft detailed a Seasonal Journey with seven sequential missions, each containing eight objectives, available from level 1. Season 2’s four modifier types were global, active, passive, and hostile. Players could disable modifiers, but modifiers could not run at the same time as global events. Manhunts moved to weekly Scouts and a climax
Rather than advancing through monthly story beats, Manhunt 2.0 used weekly Scout missions. Season 2’s Scouts involved three activities completed in order. Completing all of a season’s Scouts unlocked its Climax Mission, followed by a Master version designed for a four-person team. The system tied weekly activities to a larger seasonal story payoff.

Year 6 season timeline
Season 1: First Rogue — June 11, 2024
First Rogue brought Aaron Keener back to Washington, D.C. after the Year 5 Season 3 reveal that he was alive and Kelso had joined forces with him. The setup put agents in an uneasy alliance with Keener against Natalya Sokolova and Black Tusk, with the central question of whether Keener could be trusted. It also introduced One Endgame and was available to all The Division 2 players without requiring Warlords of New York.
Season 2: Shades of Red — October 28, 2024
With Keener in custody at the White House, agents set out to secure his team, beginning with Theo Parnell. The season announcement covered the Seasonal Journey, modifiers, priority objectives, weekly Scouts, and new gear and weapons. Named additions included the Exotic Strega assault rifle, Centurion’s Scabbard holster, Virtuoso gear set, and Legatus S.p.A. brand set. Their announced talent values are season-era details, not reliable guidance for current balance.

Ubisoft listed the optional Season Pass at 1,000 Premium Credits, then shown as $9.99 or regional equivalent, and Premium+ at $29.99 or regional equivalent. Those are historical prices from the 2024 announcement, not verified current prices.
Season 3: Burden of Truth — launched February 25, 2025
Burden of Truth sent agents to find Alani Kelso, who was in hiding after First Rogue and entangled with Keener. Its story used weekly Manhunt Scout missions leading to a climax mission. Ubisoft said open-world activities awarded seasonal XP toward the pass and its free and premium rewards.
Best Value
- Durable
- Flexible design
- robustness
For this season, Ubisoft said completing the climax unlocked Master difficulty, where completion guaranteed an Exotic item; it also said an Exotic could drop at other difficulties, with better drop rates at higher difficulties. New modifiers emphasized high-risk, high-reward play. Ubisoft also announced stash-space increases and anniversary cosmetics. These are Season 3 announcement details, not confirmation of current reward rules. Ubisoft’s Burden of Truth overview

The roadmap promised a consolidated customization interface and said Ubisoft was exploring ways to showcase characters and achievements in existing menus. Those statements describe the June 2024 plan; the roadmap alone does not establish the final implementation status.
Ubisoft also described a new story DLC in Brooklyn as the culmination of Year 6, evoking the setting “where it all began.” The June 2024 roadmap establishes that it was planned, but the cited announcements do not establish its final release date or all eventual launch details.
