Boote und Seeschlachten könnten The Elder Scrolls VI bereichern – doch bestätigt ist davon nichts. Bruce Nesmith, ehemaliger Lead Designer von Skyrim, nannte Seefahrt und mögliche Kämpfe auf dem Wasser als spannende Ideen für das nächste Elder-Scrolls-Spiel. In einem von Play3.de am 2. Oktober 2026 aufgegriffenen Interview mit GoHumanize wurde Nesmith gefragt, was er sich für The Elder Scrolls VI wünschen würde. Der frühere Skyrim-Lead-Designer nannte Boote und möglicherweise Seeschlachten als naheliegende, reizvolle Richtung. Nesmiths Gedanke geht über ein schnelleres Transportmittel hinaus: Er sieht in Wasserreisen eine Gelegenheit für neue Spielmechaniken und Gegner. Als Möglichkeiten erwähnte er Segeln, Schiffskämpfe, Fähigkeiten rund ums Wasser, Kreaturen und Zauber. Haie, Kraken und Meereselfen aus der Elder-Scrolls-Lore waren Beispiele für seine Vorstellung – keine bestätigte Feature- oder Gegnerliste des Spiels.
Hat Bethesda Seefahrt oder Schiffe für TES 6 bestätigt?
Nein. Bethesda Game Studios hat weder Boote noch Seeschlachten oder ein bestimmtes Setting für The Elder Scrolls VI angekündigt. Die Idee stammt von Nesmith, der hier als ehemaliger Entwickler und nicht als Sprecher des aktuellen Teams zitiert wird.

In seinem offiziellen Studio-Update vom 17. Juli 2026 bezeichnete Bethesda The Elder Scrolls VI als derzeitigen Entwicklungsschwerpunkt und erklärte, dass die Mehrheit des Teams daran arbeite. Das Spiel entstehe wie Fallout 5 auf der Creation Engine 3. Auch die Iliac-Bucht ist in diesem Zusammenhang kein bestätigter Schauplatz: Play3.de erwähnt sie nur im Zusammenhang mit Fan-Theorien. Daraus lässt sich weder das Setting noch die Anwesenheit von Schiffen ableiten.

Wie könnte Wasser-Gameplay aussehen – und was hielt Nesmith für sinnvoll?
Nesmiths Vorschlag lässt sich in zwei unterschiedliche Bereiche teilen: Erkundung und Kämpfe auf der Wasseroberfläche sowie ausgedehnte Unterwassergebiete. Seine Vorliebe lag bei der Oberflächenwelt. Dort könnten Segeln, Begegnungen mit Kreaturen oder Gefechte mit anderen Schiffen eine neue Art der Fortbewegung und Auseinandersetzung verbinden.
Große Unterwasserareale wollte Nesmith dagegen nicht zum Schwerpunkt machen. Laut der Interview-Berichterstattung verwies er dabei auf Überlegungen zu Fallout 4: Unterwasserideen seien dort nicht in großem Umfang umgesetzt worden, weil solche Inhalte erheblichen Entwicklungsaufwand verursachen könnten. Das ist seine Einschätzung aus früherer Erfahrung, keine Aussage über die Planung des heutigen Bethesda-Teams für TES 6.

Was ist über Entwicklung und Umfang des Spiels bekannt?
Bethesdas Mitteilung vom Juli 2026 ist ein Statusbericht, keine Feature-Enthüllung: Das Studio nennt The Elder Scrolls VI seinen primären Entwicklungsschwerpunkt, bestätigt die Creation Engine 3 und sagt, dass das Team das Spiel täglich spiele. Todd Howard sagte laut GameSpot im Juni 2026: „We know we need to get it right and it’s been a long time.“ Auch diese Bemerkung betrifft Erwartungen und Entwicklungszeit, nicht Boote oder das Setting. Was bedeutet Nesmiths Vorschlag für Spieler?
Er zeigt, welche Richtung ein früherer leitender Entwickler für Elder Scrolls reizvoll findet: Wasser könnte mehr sein als eine Barriere zwischen Küsten. Ob Bethesda daraus ein System macht, ist offen. Bis das Studio selbst konkrete Spielinhalte ankündigt, sollten Aussagen über Schiffe, Seeschlachten, Meereselfen oder eine bestimmte Bucht als Spekulation beziehungsweise Wunsch eines ehemaligen Entwicklers verstanden werden – nicht als Leak oder bestätigte Planung.
