Oblivion Remastered requires Windows 10 version 21H1 or later, DirectX 12, an SSD, and 125 GB of storage. Bethesda’s minimum tier calls for 16 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce 1070 Ti; its recommended tier raises that to 32 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 6800 XT or RTX 2080. Bethesda does not specify a guaranteed frame rate or resolution for either tier.
Minimum and recommended PC requirements
The specifications below are from Bethesda Support’s current requirements page. The page does not show a publication or revision date; the listed requirements were accessed in 2026.

These are Bethesda’s published hardware tiers, not independently tested performance thresholds. Bethesda says that “Performance scales with better hardware,” but does not tie either tier to a particular FPS target, resolution, or graphics preset. Bethesda Support: PC requirements
What the specs mean for your PC
Minimum is not the same as recommended
For the minimum tier, check that your PC meets the listed processor and graphics-card models, has 16 GB of RAM, and meets the shared OS, DirectX, and SSD-storage requirements. The recommended tier is a separate, more demanding list: 32 GB of RAM, a Ryzen 5 3600X or Core i5-10600K, and an RX 6800 XT or RTX 2080. Meeting Bethesda’s minimum list should not be read as a promise of a particular smoothness level or image quality.

Check the installation drive, not just the free-space number
Bethesda lists 125 GB for both tiers and explicitly requires an SSD. Make sure the drive you plan to use has at least that much available space and is an SSD rather than a hard disk drive. Bethesda does not specify an SSD interface, form factor, or model, so confirm compatibility with your computer before choosing a drive. Bethesda’s requirement listing and its SSD installation guidance both point to SSD use.

Bethesda’s support guidance suggests working through basic software and configuration checks rather than assuming a single setting will fix every issue:

- Compare your computer with the published requirements and close unnecessary background applications.
- Update your graphics drivers. If the computer has more than one GPU, check that the game is using the intended one.
- In the game’s graphics settings, test a lower display resolution or resolution scale, and adjust shadow quality and global illumination quality. Bethesda also identifies DLSS/FSR mode as a setting that can affect frame rate.
- Restart the game after changing graphics settings and compare performance under the same conditions.
- If the issue continues, Bethesda also suggests checking Steam Overlay or Xbox Game Bar, verifying game files, power settings, and DirectX runtime files where applicable.
