The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launched on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC on April 22, 2025, and arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026. It preserves the original RPG’s core while using Unreal Engine 5 for a visual overhaul, revising several systems and adding platform-specific features on Switch 2.
What is Oblivion Remastered?
It is a remaster of Bethesda’s 2006 open-world role-playing game, set in Cyrodiil and the planes of Oblivion. The story follows a fight against a Daedric invasion. Bethesda developed the remaster in collaboration with Virtuos. Xbox Wire describes the original Creation Engine game as the core beneath the Unreal Engine 5 visual treatment.
Virtuos Executive Producer Alex Murphy described the original’s importance this way: “Oblivion is the heart and soul of the Remaster.” Bethesda’s extended look presents the project as a visual and gameplay refresh of the original, rather than a new story.

What is the latest Switch 2 patch information?

This identifies Switch 2 updates only; it does not establish the latest patch status for Xbox, PlayStation or PC.
A separate Bethesda post dated June 11, 2025, about the original release’s Update 1.1 focused on quests, major bugs, blockers and quality-of-life issues, and said a performance-focused update was planned at that time. That historical statement is not a current roadmap. See Bethesda’s Switch 2 page and linked notices and its June 11, 2025 Update 1.1 post for the dated update details.
