The First Berserker: Khazan’s March 27, 2025 hotfix lowered the difficulty of Viper in Phases 1 and 2 and Maluca on Easy and Normal. It also made six other encounters harder, so this was a targeted rebalance—not a blanket nerf to the game.
Which bosses were nerfed?
The March 27, 2025 patch notes list two difficulty reductions, both scoped to Easy and Normal difficulty:

Why did the developers lower difficulty?
In a March developer letter reproduced by SteamDB, the developers said the reductions were intended to let stamina-based combat reward players sooner and to prevent minor mistakes from necessarily causing failure. They also said Easy-mode benefits were increased for players who continued to struggle after switching to Easy. SteamDB’s reproduction of the March developer letter is the source for that rationale.

Is this a new boss-balance patch?
No. These boss changes shipped in March 2025. The latest official news item visible in the reviewed Steam listing is dated July 28, 2026 and describes PC stability improvements and system/security updates; it does not list another boss rebalance. Check the official Steam news listing for subsequent announcements.
