The reliable way to get a private server in The Forge is through the game’s own Roblox page, using the Servers section. Whether that server is free depends on a setting the game’s creator controls, and this article could not confirm that setting from an official game-specific source. Third-party guides from 2026 report a 100 Robux monthly fee, and community-shared “free” links can stop working or change access at any time. Check the live listing before you act on anything in this guide.
What Roblox says about private server pricing
Roblox private servers are set up by the experience creator, not by Roblox as a single platform-wide price. According to Roblox’s Roblox Creator Hub guide to private servers, a creator can charge a monthly Robux fee for private servers or make them free. The relevant control is a “Requires Robux” option: disabling it makes that experience’s private servers free for all players.
That means “free” is a per-game decision. A free private server for one experience says nothing about another, and a game can change its setting after you have read about it.
What the 2026 guides report about The Forge
Two independent guides discuss The Forge’s private servers in 2026. Neither is an official Roblox or developer statement, so treat their figures as dated reports.

| Source | Date shown | Price reported | Player capacity reported | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MobileMatters, The Forge private server links | Guide labeled January 2026 | 100 Robux, shown in the creation prompt | Not stated | Whether the price is still current; no official confirmation |
| Pro Game Guides, The Forge private server links | Updated May 4, 2026 | 100 Robux, renewing monthly | 12 players per private server | Whether the capacity or price has changed since May 2026, or whether any listed link still works |
| Roblox Creator Hub | Current developer documentation | Set by the creator; no fixed platform price | Not stated | The actual setting for The Forge |
The two guides agree on the 100 Robux figure, which is useful as a reference point. It is still not a guarantee for today, because the most recent dated report available for this article is from May 2026.
How to create a private server yourself
Creating a server works only on an experience that has private servers enabled. Follow these steps on the live page:

- Open the official Roblox page for The Forge and select Servers beneath the experience information.
- Look for the private servers area. If the creator has disabled the Robux requirement, the create option should appear without a Robux price. If a price is shown, the server is paid at that price.
- Select Create Private Server, then follow Roblox’s prompts. Name the server and review the subscription agreement if one appears.
- Open the server’s menu and choose Configure. Set its name, member permissions, and friend access, then copy the server link.
- Share the link only with the people you want to admit. Anyone with the link can still be blocked by the access settings described below.
Using someone else’s shared link
A link posted in a guide or video is only as current as its owner’s settings. Before you rely on one, check these points:
- The link is still live. Owners can close servers, and links can expire.
- The owner still allows you in. Access can be limited to selected users or friends after the link was posted.
- Your account is allowed to join. Roblox says users under 13 may be limited by privacy and parental-control settings. Its Private VIP Servers FAQ says that by default these users can only join friends’ private servers.
- The server is not a paid subscription you did not approve. A link can lead to a server whose owner pays a recurring Robux fee; do not pay anything yourself unless you understand the charge.
If a link fails, the most likely causes are an expired server, a changed access list, or a privacy setting on your account. Ask the server owner to check the access configuration before you assume the game is at fault.

Recurring charges and cancelling
Roblox states that paid private servers charge once at creation and then monthly on the same date. The owner can cancel before renewal. If there are not enough Robux when a renewal falls due, the server expires. Check the renewal date before you create a paid server, and cancel it in advance if you do not want another charge.

Start with the Servers section on The Forge’s Roblox page, since it reflects the current setting. Use community links only as a starting point, and do not treat a 2026 price or player count as current without checking. If you create your own server, control access from the Configure menu so that only the people you choose can join.
