The Last of Us Part II Remastered has four official PC performance targets, from Low at 720p and an average 30 fps to Very High at 4K and an average 60 fps. Every tier calls for a 150 GB SSD and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11; the top tier requires 32 GB of RAM, while the other three list 16 GB. These are publisher targets, not guaranteed results for every PC.

Official PC system requirements

PlayStation lists four tiers pairing a graphics preset with an average resolution and frame-rate target. Check every component in the tier you have in mind: matching its graphics card alone does not establish that your whole PC meets the requirements.

Tier Preset and target Processor Graphics card Memory Operating system Storage
Minimum Low; 720p at an average 30 fps Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 16 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, version 1909 or higher 150 GB SSD
Recommended Medium; 1080p at an average 60 fps Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 16 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, version 1909 or higher 150 GB SSD
High High; 1440p at an average 60 fps Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 16 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, version 1909 or higher 150 GB SSD
Very High Very High; 4K at an average 60 fps Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT 32 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, version 1909 or higher 150 GB SSD

These figures are from PlayStation’s official PC requirements. Naughty Dog’s support article, published April 3, 2025, also confirms the Minimum and Recommended targets and describes them as average frame rates.

Which tier should you aim for?

Choose by the resolution, frame rate and preset you want, then compare your CPU, GPU, RAM and SSD capacity with that tier. The Recommended tier is the listed target for Medium settings at 1080p and an average 60 fps. High raises the target to 1440p at an average 60 fps; Very High targets 4K at the same average frame rate and lists a more capable graphics card and 32 GB of RAM.

There is no single official “best PC” configuration: the requirements page gives target tiers, not a universal build or independent benchmarks of every possible component combination. Treat the listed performance as a guide to the intended tier, not a promise that your system will hold a particular frame rate in every scene.

CPU compatibility: AVX and F16C

Naughty Dog says the game requires CPU support for both AVX and F16C instructions. It adds that most processors released from 2012 onward are supported, but release year alone is not a compatibility check. If your CPU is close to the minimum or is an older model, confirm that it supports both instruction sets.

Storage, graphics features and controllers

  • SSD space: All four tiers specify a 150 GB SSD. The requirement does not name a particular SSD interface. If your PC lacks enough SSD capacity, you may need additional space; the specification does not mean every player needs to upgrade.
  • Upscaling and frame generation: PlayStation lists NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1, as well as Intel XeSS. Relevant features require compatible PC or graphics hardware.
  • Display support: Widescreen and ultrawide resolutions and HDR are listed for compatible displays. The PC version also has a scalable Display and Graphics Menu.
  • DualSense: PlayStation says a wired connection is required to use the full range of in-game DualSense controller features.

These options do not replace the underlying CPU, GPU, memory, operating-system and SSD requirements; they are additional features with their own compatibility conditions.
