However, this was a time-limited 2025 promotion—not a price that should be assumed live in 2026. Check the current Best Buy listing and checkout terms before buying.
Important: The promotion discussed here was reported during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2025 period. The available retailer information does not confirm that the same $249 price, gift-card amount, and game bundle is still active on August 16–18, 2026.
What the Best Buy deal included
| Item | Documented promotion |
|---|---|
| Headset | Meta Quest 3S, 128GB |
| Comparison price | $299 |
| Sale price | $249 |
| Discount | $50 off, about 17% |
| Game | The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners |
| Gift card | Best Buy digital gift card, reported as $50 |
| Retailer | Best Buy |
The offer was tied to a specific Best Buy bundle listing, identified in the indexed product information as model SK-1000926-01 and SKU 6622623. See the Best Buy product listing and coverage from WIRED and Engadget.
Why the advertised price can be misleading
The headset cost $249 at checkout. The gift card was separate Best Buy credit, not an instant $50 reduction on the headset. That means it is only worth its full face value if you would otherwise shop at Best Buy.

Deal reports described the card as $50, but an indexed Best Buy result later displayed a $75 gift-card signal. That conflict makes the live product page and final checkout terms decisive. Do not assume the card is $50—or $75—unless the current offer explicitly says so.
A gift card may be issued digitally after the order ships, according to Best Buy customer responses. Check the order details, email account, delivery timing, expiration date, and exclusions. Keep a screenshot of the promotional terms if you purchase.

The game is digital, not necessarily pre-installed
The bundle included The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, but available Best Buy responses indicate that buyers may need to claim it through the Meta Quest Store or the headset library. It should not be described as a physical game card or an automatically installed title.
How to look for the included game
- Complete Quest 3S setup with the Meta Horizon app on a smartphone.
- Sign in to the Meta account used during setup.
- Open the Meta Quest Store or your library in the headset.
- Search for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.
- Look for a Redeem or promotional-claim option rather than selecting the paid purchase button.
Some Best Buy customers reported that the promotion did not appear immediately or that the game was shown at a purchase price. If that happens, confirm you bought the promotional SKU, check the order details, and contact both Best Buy and Meta support with the order number and SKU. Customer reports describe both successful in-headset redemption and cases requiring support, so redemption should not be treated as guaranteed to be frictionless.

Do all Quest 3S headsets include this game?
No. The game was associated with the named Best Buy promotion, not every Quest 3S listing. Other Quest 3S bundles may include Batman: Arkham Shadow, a Meta Horizon+ trial, or no promotional game at all.
The 128GB Walking Dead bundle was also separate from the 256GB Quest 3S promotion. Best Buy’s indexed VR-deals page showed the 256GB model at a higher price, around $349.99 during the cited sale, with Batman: Arkham Shadow and a Meta Horizon+ trial. Do not apply the $249 price or Walking Dead inclusion to that model.

Is the 128GB Quest 3S a good buy?
At the documented $249 price, it was an attractive entry point for first-time VR buyers and gift shoppers. The Quest 3S works as a standalone headset, so normal use does not require a console or gaming PC. A smartphone with the Meta Horizon app may still be required for initial setup.
The main compromise is storage. The 128GB capacity can fill quickly with larger games, although titles can be uninstalled and downloaded again later. Buyers who expect a large library should compare the 256GB version before committing.

The Quest 3S is also a budget-focused model with an LCD display, 1832 × 1920 resolution per eye, Fresnel lenses, and refresh rates up to 120Hz according to the indexed Best Buy specifications. Shoppers who care more about lens clarity and display quality than the lowest entry price should compare it with the higher-end Meta Quest 3.
Check these details before ordering
- Confirm the listing says 128GB, not 256GB.
- Verify the current price at checkout.
- Verify the exact gift-card amount and delivery timing.
- Confirm that The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is explicitly included.
- Check whether the offer has an expiration date or regional restrictions.
- Do not count the gift card as cash savings unless you will use it at Best Buy.
The Best Buy VR deals page is useful for distinguishing current bundles, but its indexed historical information should not be treated as proof that an older promotion remains active.
