The September game was The Elder Scrolls: Castles, not The Elder Scrolls VI. Bethesda’s mobile castle-management game launched worldwide for Apple and Android devices on September 10, 2024—a date that has already passed.
What is The Elder Scrolls: Castles?
The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a management and simulation spin-off set in the Elder Scrolls universe. Instead of exploring an open world as a role-playing-game character, you run a castle and guide a dynasty through successive generations.
Bethesda’s Google Play listing describes a loop built around growing and ruling a population, making decisions for the kingdom, and sending heroes on quests against familiar Elder Scrolls enemies. The listing says each real-life day represents an in-game year.
What do you do in the game?
You manage both the castle and the people who live in it. The listed activities include:

- The award-winning fantasy role-playing series, The Elder Scrolls, goes online--with no game subscription required.
- Experience the world of Tamriel on your own, or together with friends, guild mates, and thousands of other players.
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition comes bundled with 4 DLC Game Packs.
- Expanding and decorating rooms, then assigning subjects to workstations.
- Training subjects, maintaining order, and choosing heirs as rulers change.
- Making decisions that affect your kingdom and its subjects.
- Creating and equipping heroes before sending them on quests.
The generational structure is central to the premise: families grow, rulers succeed one another, and your decisions shape a story across the dynasty.
How is Castles different from The Elder Scrolls VI?
Castles is a mobile castle-and-dynasty management game; it is not the long-awaited mainline sequel implied by the headline’s wording. Its Elder Scrolls connection is the setting and familiar foes, while its format and central activities are focused on running a stronghold rather than a traditional open-world RPG. Contemporary launch coverage explicitly distinguished it from The Elder Scrolls VI, which is a separate game.

When did it launch, and where is it listed?
TweakTown reported that The Elder Scrolls: Castles launched worldwide on September 10, 2024, for Apple and Android devices. That date is historical, not a forthcoming September release. The Google Play listing currently identifies it as a single-player game and shows in-app purchases; store details can change. Its current Android listing does not establish present iOS availability in every region.
The game had appeared in Android early access in September 2023, as GameSpot reported at the time. That earlier appearance is useful timeline context, not evidence of current availability. The official listing describes a mobile app, not a physical console or PC release.

What to take from the September announcement
If you saw a claim that a new Elder Scrolls game was coming in September and wondered whether it meant The Elder Scrolls VI, the answer is no: the date referred to The Elder Scrolls: Castles, a separate mobile spin-off centered on castle management, decisions, and a continuing dynasty.
