THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid is a single-player, first-person horror/action game developed and published by Paraguay’s Waraní Studios. It follows a corrupt politician who escapes into a region of dark legends, only to lose his car keys when his assistant disappears. The publisher describes a survival-horror journey involving scarce ammunition, combat or evasion, puzzles, crafting, and supernatural distortions of time and space.
What is THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid about?
The story begins with a corrupt politician fleeing justice. He heads into a remote region associated with dark legends, where his assistant vanishes with the car keys. Stranded, he is drawn into a journey shaped by supernatural events and distortions of time and space, eventually confronting the Blind Maid’s origin and the possibility of redemption. This plot summary follows the official Steam listing and US PlayStation Store listing.
The official descriptions do not identify a particular real-world legend or folklore tradition as the Blind Maid’s source. The game is presented through Paraguayan-developed horror and legend imagery, but a more specific folklore connection should not be assumed.
How does the gameplay work?
Waraní Studios describes the game as a first-person horror/action experience built around managing danger rather than relying on constant combat. Its official listings emphasize:
