Unique weapons in The Outer Worlds 2 come from vendors, quests, containers, enemies and story choices. This location-by-location guide follows the campaign regions and flags the weapons that can be missed or require a particular skill, key or decision. It reflects the inventory and directions in Jason Rodriguez’s GameSpot guide, published October 28, 2025; GameSpot describes that guide as an ongoing list, so it should not be treated as independently verified against every later game update. Read the GameSpot guide.

Incognito

Prologue and edition weapons

  • Zane’s Blade and Zane’s Pistol: Appear in the inventory after the prologue if the game was preordered. The blade can gain sneak-attack damage while camouflaged and grant camouflage after a stealth kill. The pistol’s mods affect critical chance, health restoration on critical hits, magazine capacity, reload speed, soft-target penetration and sight magnification.
  • Premium Moon Man SMG and Deluxe Moon Man Staff: Automatically received with the Premium Edition. The SMG grants a small number of bits on kills; the staff can improve damage resistance while blocking and grant a temporary power-attack damage boost on kills.

Rookie’s Reward

Look in the locker across from the workbench. Open it with Hack 11, or disable power using the switch behind the crates beside the workbench. The weapon gains experience through use and increases in power.

Eden: Paradise Island

Fairfield, Westport and Euphoria Coast

  • Rattler: Buy it from the weapons vendor in Fairfield. Its Snake Shot mod converts standard cartridges to shotshells for greater close-range spread and damage at the cost of accuracy.
  • Kaur’s Korroder: Side with Kaur rather than Milverstreet during the Fairfield and Paradise Island quests. The guide says an earlier lockbox method appears to have been patched out. Its Infection mod fires bouncing goo that can spread corrosive effects; the chance scales with Science.
  • Zyraniator: Buy it from the mech vendor at the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center. Its mod progressively increases damage against targets; automechanicals take no damage and become overcharged instead.
  • Adrenaline-Edge Mk.3: Buy it from the mech vendor in Westport. Combat Drugs accumulates energy and toxicity during active combat; Medical reduces the accumulated toxicity.
  • Emergency Stop: Speak with Vigilant Hogarth in Westport and complete “The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals.” Big Red Button adds critical chance and can stun automechanicals on critical hits; Hack affects its cooldown.

Vox Relay and Skycutter A102

  • Chainspark Cannon: Defeat Brigadier Montelli during “The Saboteur of Paradise” and loot him in the Vox Relay. Chain Lightning sends electricity through enemies.
  • Thunderstruck: At Skycutter A102, climb to the lift and use Control Panel Schematics to send a power surge to the Vox Relay. Check the wall near the terminal. The guide obtained it before completing the Vox Relay objective and could not confirm whether the surge remains possible after the Relay lifts off.

Free Market Station

  • Agatha: Buy it from the weapons vendor in the merchant area. Agatha’s Surprise makes it fire more slowly but causes bullets to explode on impact; it uses heavy rounds rather than long rounds.
  • Pitchball Machine, Jackpot and Spectrum Dance Saber: Fionna F. Walker sells these after you complete “A Collection of Rogues,” which requires acquiring at least 15 collectible cards. Their mods use explosive pitchballs whose damage scales with card count, a three-hit free-spin mechanic, and prompted dance actions, respectively.

Dorado: Golden Ridge

Guardian Estates and Decommissioned Autonomous Extractorium

  • Wham-Bam: Defeat or pickpocket the Dunsany Brothers in Guardian Estates, southwest of the zone. Shotgun Hammer triggers a shotgun blast on hit when shotgun ammo is loaded.
  • Death Sentence: Find it in a locker in the cell where you rescue and recruit Aza at the Decommissioned Autonomous Extractorium. Open the locker with Lockpick 12 or the Experimental Storage Locker Key. The key is on a desk on the lower floor in the northern open-gate room.

N-Ray Range, Mantisaur Den and Alexandra Monastery

  • Prototype N-Radiated Scythe: Open the propulsion display in sub-level 2 of N-Ray Range with Science 5 or Melee 5. Observation 3 lowers the requirement to Science 3 or Melee 3.
  • Cleo’s the Hunt: Complete “Pinching the Pupa.” Retrieve a zyranium-infused pupa from the Mantisaur Den east of Fort Endurance and give it to Biological Designer Bradford or Trooper Wentworth.
  • Zyranium Ray: Acquire it during the region’s main-quest progression at Zyranium Manufactory VII. Its mod poisons organic targets; automechanicals are overcharged rather than damaged.
  • The Oracle: After “On the Trail of the Traitor,” the Golden Ridge main quest, look in the display case at Alexandra Monastery’s Observatory. Use the Abbot’s Universal Key or Lockpick 12. Alternatively, defeat Seer Landon Wiley for a key; the Abbot also gives a duplicate.

Greater Tranquility Station

The Simplifier

In the level’s last area, where you decide Augustine de Vries’s fate, search for The Simplifier before leaving. The guide says the area cannot be revisited afterward. Pinpoint Assassin gives the weapon perfect accuracy and no bullet damage falloff, with variable scope zoom.

ACS Undisputed Claim

  • Vortex Maul: Buy it from the general-goods vendor in the Value-Added Esplanade. Voracious rapidly stacks Vulnerable to remove armor.
  • Popup Gun: Buy it from the weapons vendor on the east side of the Value-Added Esplanade. Shotgun Marketing deploys advertising drones to goad targets. The weapon reloads when a drone dies; manually reloading closes ads explosively.
  • Matron’s Mauler: The guide ties this reward to siding with Auntie’s Choice early in “An Equitable Arrangement,” completing missions for Auntie’s Choice and the Order of the Ascendant, and then completing Auntie Cleo’s “The Mechanical Matriarch” task. Motivator briefly charms humans on power attacks.

Praetor

  • Boarst Blaster: Complete “Walking on Eggshells.” Retrieve a Gorvid Egg from a nest northwest of the Automech Production Facility and bring it to Head Gorvid Researcher Tedford at Auntie’s Border Camp.
  • Armageddon: After unlocking the Rift Anomaly Modulator, enter the main research chamber at the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center and interact with the rift in the room marked “Interstitial Weapons Development.”
  • Multi-Launcher: Search the Firing Range/Armory at Central Station in the northwest of the region.

Cloister

Laplace’s Garden and Winter’s Grasp

  • Cover Fire: Buy it from the purveyor NPC in Laplace’s Garden. Inspiration buffs allies’ movement speed, fire rate and accuracy; maximum effect scales with Leadership.
  • N-Rage: Receive it from Artificer Laureate Enola Kraft for “A Study in Disruption.” Overdrive consumes gadget energy to apply N-Radiated, reverting to standard ammo when energy is insufficient.
  • Zzzapper: Complete “Controlling for Convenience” in Laplace’s Garden. Meet Persephone Doyle at the bar, retrieve a drug from the Water Reconditioning Plant, and hand over either the correct or altered sample.
  • Biggest Fan: Buy it from the quartermaster in Winter’s Grasp.

EARL facility, Spireton and the Menagerie

  • Big Bang: At the EARL facility in southwest Cloister, use the N-Ray Scanner to see wiring. Activate the top-center, mid-center and mid-left switches; the top-right switch is already active. The weapon’s special-ammunition recipe can be obtained by stabilizing a Rift Anomaly farther along the corridor.
  • Bar Brawler’s Club: Loot Glorious Dawn leader Otis “Baldy” Donahue at an encampment east of the EARL facility.
  • Chilling Anti-Matter Plasma Sniper: Find it in a vault on the third floor of the facility tied to Marisol’s “The Midpoint to the Endpoint” quest. Open it with Lockpick 17 or Hack 17. The guide warns that selecting an option at the Burndown Initiation Settings terminal blocks access to the side rooms containing the vault.
  • Little Roar: Open the safe requiring Lockpick 7 in Spireton, in the building to the left as you approach the elevator.
  • Tremor Cleaver: The guide describes this as a common weapon received after the Cold Storage task in Archive – Underlands, part of “A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum.”
  • Critter Catcher: Find it in a locked metal container in the Algid Menagerie during Inez’s second companion quest, “A Most Extraordinary Specimen.” First complete “Better Than Nature,” keep Inez in the party, obtain and play the courier recording aboard the Incognito, then follow the quest to Frozen Maw and into the Algid Menagerie.

Point Obviation

Aggravator

This is a potential reward at the end of Marisol’s “Endpoint’s End” companion quest. If Anchoress Brun was killed, Exemplar Southworth confronts you when you leave the research base; the guide says obtaining Aggravator in this situation requires engaging and killing Southworth and the soldiers.
