No Pokémon GO spoofer was genuinely safe in 2024. Niantic prohibits falsifying a device’s location, including GPS spoofing, whether the phone is rooted or jailbroken or not. A tool that keeps the official game installed may reduce some device and modified-client risks, but it cannot make spoofing compliant or guarantee that an account will avoid enforcement.
This is a retrospective on the 2024 question, not a claim that older compatibility or vendor promises still apply. The practical recommendation for an account you value is to use the official game and its intended features.
What “safe” means for a Pokémon GO spoofer
Safety is not a single property. A tool can avoid modifying iOS or Android while still putting an account at risk; an official-looking download can still request excessive access or expose credentials. Separate these questions before weighing any product:
- Account safety: Does the method falsify location, modify the game, automate play, or add unauthorized features? Niantic’s rules address the conduct and software, not just the device’s root or jailbreak status.
- Device safety: Does it require rooting, jailbreaking, sideloading, installing a profile or certificate, or granting broad permissions? Could it affect location data used by other apps?
- Privacy: Does the vendor ask for a Pokémon Trainer Club, Google, or Apple password, account token, screen-control permission, or network routing through its service?
- Reliability: Is support established for the exact phone, operating-system release, Pokémon GO build, and tool version? Updates can break a method or produce location errors.
- Financial safety: Is the product a subscription or one-time purchase? Are renewal and refund terms clear? A refund promise cannot restore a suspended account.
Accordingly, “no jailbreak” can mean less operating-system modification; it does not mean “safe for your account.”

What Niantic’s rules mean for spoofing
Niantic’s Terms of Service prohibit techniques that alter or falsify a device’s location, including GPS spoofing. Its Gameplay Fairness Policy identifies GPS spoofing and unauthorized third-party software or add-ons as cheating. The rule does not become inapplicable because a tool leaves the official app installed.
Niantic recommends downloading its games from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Samsung Galaxy Store and says rooted or jailbroken devices and third-party apps are unsupported in its enforcement guidance. That makes a modified game client a distinct additional concern, but it does not create a safe category of location-spoofing tools.
The commonly cited three-strike system is not a warranty. Niantic says players may receive escalating warnings and restrictions, but offenders are not always offered all three strikes; some conduct can result in immediate termination. Its ban-appeal guidance lists spoofing among violations that can lead to long-term or permanent bans.

iOS 17 methods: what they change and what they do not
Modified or sideloaded Pokémon GO clients
These distribute an altered game client, often advertising extra controls, teleporting, routes, auto-catch, or enhanced throws. They add risks beyond falsifying location: players must trust an unofficial app source and may need to install certificates, profiles, or sideloading components. The altered client can stop working after an update, and an unofficial installer can expose credentials or device data. Reports that a client worked for other players are anecdotes, not evidence of future protection from enforcement.
Tethered desktop location changers
These connect an iPhone to a Windows PC or Mac and attempt to change reported device location while the official game remains installed. That can reduce exposure to a modified Pokémon GO package and may avoid jailbreaking, but it still falsifies location. Vendor phrases such as “zero ban risk” or “no bans” are marketing, not guarantees. Compatibility depends on the specific iOS, game, device, and tool versions, and a device-level location change can affect other apps too.
Bluetooth or other hardware GPS accessories
Hardware may avoid installing an altered game client and may not require a jailbreak. It does not change Niantic’s rule: falsified location remains prohibited. Before considering any accessory, verify that it is actually available and supported for the specific phone and operating-system version. Account risk remains material and unknowable, while device-wide location effects can reach maps, geotagging, and other location-based services.

Why jailbreak methods are outside this comparison
Jailbreak-based approaches do not meet the “without jailbreak” requirement and carry additional device-security and reliability concerns. Apple warns that unauthorized iOS modifications can expose devices to malware or spyware, cause unreliable behavior or inaccurate location data, and interfere with future updates. See Apple’s guidance on unauthorized iOS modifications.
Android methods: no-root does not mean no risk
No-root mock-location apps
Some Android tools use developer-oriented mock-location mechanisms and leave the official Pokémon GO installation unchanged. Avoiding root can reduce system-modification exposure, but it does not make spoofing permitted. Some products also rely on overlays, cloned apps, automation, or packages obtained outside Google Play. Google Play’s Device and Network Abuse policy addresses game-cheating apps that affect other apps as well as harmful behavior involving unauthorized executable code.
Modified clients such as PGSharp
PGSharp is a commercial, unofficial Pokémon GO client for Android. Its product page advertises features such as joystick-style movement, routes, and enhanced throws. Its current page shows a free edition, a Standard Edition listed at $5 USD per month, and Android 9.0 or above for the displayed version; those are current vendor signals, not verified 2024 specifications. The free tier is not a safety signal: the central issue is still use of an altered client, and vendor wording about potentially higher safety is not a Niantic guarantee. See PGSharp’s product page.

Rooted Android setups
Rooting is outside the no-root scope and can affect device integrity, security updates, banking apps, and compatibility. It does not remove the account risk of spoofing. This comparison does not cover ways to conceal root or mock locations or bypass integrity checks.
Desktop and Bluetooth tools
Cross-platform desktop tools and hardware accessories may advertise that they work without root and with the official game app. That distinction can matter for device and modified-client exposure, but not for the underlying rule against falsifying location. A device-level tool can also influence location reported to apps beyond Pokémon GO.
Relative risks at a glance
| Method | Device risk | Modified-client exposure | Account risk | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Official Pokémon GO with legitimate play | Lowest | None | Lowest when used as intended | Recommended |
| Official game features and supported accessories | Low | None | Low when used as intended | Recommended |
| Tethered location changer with official game | Low to medium; depends on software and permissions | Lower than an altered game client | Material; no guarantee | Not safe for account enforcement |
| Bluetooth or hardware location accessory | Medium; cost and compatibility vary | Potentially lower than an altered client | Material; no guarantee | Hardware does not confer immunity |
| No-root modified client | Medium; depends on package and permissions | High | High | Avoid for an account you value |
| Rooted or jailbroken setup | High | Variable to high | High | Outside scope; avoid |
| Bots, automation, cloned apps, or injected add-ons | High | High | Very high | Avoid entirely |
The comparison is relative, not a measurement of ban probability. A tool might be less risky in one dimension—for example, by leaving the game client untouched—without being safe overall.

How to assess a vendor without trusting its safety claims
For readers assessing a product despite the account risk, use these checks to judge exposure, not to find a way around enforcement:
- Confirm whether it leaves the official game untouched or supplies a modified client.
- Check whether it requires root, jailbreak, sideloading, profiles, certificates, a VPN, overlays, or accessibility permissions.
- Do not give the vendor your Pokémon GO sign-in password, account token, or recovery codes. A clean malware scan does not make a cheating tool compliant or guarantee privacy.
- Verify the vendor domain and support identity; avoid cracked packages, cloned downloads, and unofficial download links.
- Review the exact device and operating-system compatibility, update history, renewal terms, refund policy, and uninstall steps.
- Reject claims such as “undetectable,” “ban-proof,” or “zero risk.” No vendor can override Niantic’s policy or promise how it will enforce it.
- Consider what else on the phone may receive the altered location, and whether that side effect is acceptable.
Current vendor listings illustrate why pricing and compatibility should not be mistaken for a safety ranking. iToolab AnyGo currently shows a desktop monthly price of $19.95 with a $9.95 promotional price; its iOS listing shows $144.80 monthly with a $19.95 promotional price, and its Android listing shows $29.95 monthly with a $14.95 promotional price. The page does not establish 2024 pricing, account safety, or how long promotions last; check renewal terms directly on the vendor’s page.
ThinkSky currently lists iToolsGo Premium at $45.99, discounted from $49.99, and describes GPX and movement features. That listing does not establish account safety or compatibility with a particular 2024 setup; see ThinkSky’s product page. UltFone markets a Pokémon GO location spoofer with no-jailbreak/root and “safest” language, but such positioning is advertising, not an independently established guarantee; see UltFone’s product page.
What to do if you have already used a spoofer
- Stop using the tool. Remove any modified Pokémon GO client.
- Install Pokémon GO only from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Samsung Galaxy Store.
- Remove unknown profiles, certificates, VPNs, device-management components, or permissions you granted to the tool. Restore the device’s normal location settings and restart it.
- If you entered sign-in details into a third-party tool, change the password for the Pokémon Trainer Club, Google, or Apple account involved. Enable multifactor authentication where available and review account sessions or third-party access for anything suspicious.
- If Niantic applies enforcement, use its official appeal process. Do not pay a third party promising to reverse a ban; Niantic says it does not publicly discuss details of individual incidents.
Legitimate ways to play when you cannot travel
Use the game’s official options instead of changing the phone’s location. Depending on current availability and the event or feature, these can include Remote Raid Passes, trading with eligible nearby players, local community play, official events, and legitimate travel. Pokémon GO Plus and other officially supported accessories can help with intended play, but do not make remote location changes legitimate. Check the current in-game rules and availability for the feature you want.

The policy answer is clear: Niantic prohibits location falsification, so no spoofer can be called genuinely safe for a Pokémon GO account under those rules. Product versions, prices, operating-system support, and anti-cheat behavior change; the current vendor listings above are not proof of what a product supported in 2024. The sound distinction is between reducing a particular device or modified-client exposure and eliminating account risk: the former may be possible, but the latter is not established.
