The six-week event is over: its passes, rewards and collectible mechanics describe the 2025 season, not offers players can claim now.
What was Alpha Season 5?
The Sandbox presented Alpha Season 5 as a limited-time, six-week event that began at 14:00 UTC on March 31, 2025. Its official guide described six regions, more than 40 experiences and more than 20 partner brands. The company’s social announcement advertised up to $1 million USD in rewards; that was The Sandbox’s promotional figure, not an independently verified valuation.

The Sandbox describes Alpha Seasons more generally as multi-week events for testing features and collecting community feedback. Its documentation cautions that progression and reward systems can change, so Season 5’s rules should not be assumed to apply to later events.

Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve was the flagship experience
In Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve, players entered an Arizona dinosaur sanctuary as members of the Dinosaur Protection Group. The experience focused on exploring the park, collecting resources, completing quests and protecting its prehistoric residents. The partnership also introduced limited digital collectibles, including playable characters, dinosaurs and wearables.
#1 Best Overall
- The Scorpios rex joins the large dinosaurs of the Jurassic World Hammond Collection, which has created a new standard for collector figures with deluxe articulation and life-like details.
- As the rain pours down, the Scorpios rex finds the campers in their hideout. In a thrilling game of "hide-and-seek," the dinosaur is suddenly drawn away to something more enticing.
- Accurate to a Season 3 episode of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, this Scorpios rex comes with swappable claws for a more aggressive look and a lower jaw piece with dripping venom.
- With real-looking eyes and teeth and posable joints and tail, this 17-inch long figure is ready for the spotlight in product photography or dramatic display.
- This Hammond Collection figure with its swappable parts will make a great addition to any Jurassic World collection for fans 8 years and older.
How the dinosaur eggs worked
Park duties earned Jurassic Points, which players could use to improve the sanctuary and develop dinosaurs. The distinction between the two egg types mattered:
- Free herbivore eggs were in-game items, not digital collectibles.
- Premium dinosaur eggs were limited digital collectibles. Growing one in the experience produced a collectible dinosaur that its owner could keep in a wallet or place in their Sandbox experience.
Under the season’s rules, growing all five premium eggs to adulthood was promoted as worth 4,410 Ethos Points (EP). That total was tied to Alpha Season 5 and is not a current reward offer.

Teletubbies and the wider lineup
Teletubbies featured in the season, including in the Week 3 Garden and the Week 6 finale lineup. Other named partners included Atari, Deepak Chopra, The British Museum, Care Bears and Terminator: Dark Fate. The Sandbox also highlighted ten racing games and new item-based abilities: Flight, Double Jump and Air Dance.
The season’s final weekly guide, published May 6, 2025, called Week 6 the finale. Together, those updates establish Teletubbies as part of the event rather than a later addition that remained available after the season.

How Season 5 progression and access worked
The season used a 30-level Battle Pass. Players earned Ethos Points through quests and advanced through levels to unlock rewards. Access and reward opportunities differed by pass and ownership status:
- Free track: included SAND and digital equipment.
- Alpha Pass owners: could access premium Battle Pass rewards and additional SAND opportunities.
- Category Keys: opened premium areas within a region.
- Avatar and LAND owners: had season-specific reward opportunities.
These were event-specific digital mechanics. Owning an Alpha Pass now does not unlock Season 5 rewards, and the old season’s progression should not be treated as a current Sandbox system.

What players can take from the announcement now
Alpha Season 5 was a past event, not a live destination with open deadlines. Its enduring significance for the announcement was the combination of a Jurassic World sanctuary experience, franchise and creator worlds such as Teletubbies, and limited-time progression built around quests, passes and digital collectibles. The advertised reward totals and egg values belong to the historical season rules.
