EA’s most recent official note on this topic, dated September 22, 2026, says the company fixed an August problem with the Gallery server that caused content to fail to load. That note confirms the earlier issue was addressed. It does not confirm the Gallery’s status today, so verify that before assuming an outage or a fix.
What the Gallery does and what it needs
EA describes the Gallery as the place where players share their creations with the Sims community. You can upload and download Sims, households, rooms, and lots. Access requires an internet connection; EA Help’s Gallery support article states: “You’ll need to have an internet connection to access the Gallery.” You can open it from the Gallery icon in the game or from the main menu. On PC and Mac, you can also press F4.
What EA said about the August problem
In its September 22, 2026 update, EA wrote: “Earlier in August, we addressed an issue with the Gallery server where the Gallery was failing to load content, often showing a “No Results,” “Slow Loading,” or “No Connection” error after frequent searches.”
Three points follow from that statement:
- The error messages you see are the same ones EA associated with the server problem, so a matching message is a reason to check the server side first.
- The trigger EA described was frequent searching, so repeated rapid searches are a plausible context for the errors.
- The note describes a fix for a past issue. It is not a live status report, and it does not say whether every player has been affected or restored.
Step-by-step troubleshooting
- Check EA’s live server status page. Look for The Sims 4 on the page. The listing covers the game as a whole; it does not by itself confirm that the Gallery is working. If the page reports an active problem with The Sims 4, the Gallery errors are likely part of it and you should wait rather than reinstall anything.
- Check your connection on your device and network. Confirm other websites and apps load. Then follow the platform-specific connection checks in EA’s connection guidance, and restart your router if the problem persists.
- Retry after a short pause. If the errors appeared after many searches in a row, stop searching for a few minutes, then try a single search.
- If the problem started after a game update, check your mods. EA explains that mods that worked before an update can cause problems afterward. Confirm the updated game works correctly with mods disabled, then re-enable them one group at a time.
- Restart the game. If Gallery downloads are missing content you believe is installed, restart the game and check again.
Server problem or missing custom content?
These two issues look similar in the Gallery, but they have different causes. EA states that Gallery downloads may omit custom or exclusive content that is not installed on your computer. So a download that works but looks incomplete is not necessarily a server fault.

- Play with life: Control the rich and entertaining moments of your Sims’ lives from their relationships to their careers
- Likely a server or connection issue: the Gallery shows “No Results,” “Slow Loading,” or “No Connection” for every search, or it fails to open at all.
- Likely missing local content: searches return results and downloads complete, but a Sim, room, or lot is missing items or packs that you do not own or have not installed.
Three possible causes and how to separate them
EA’s guidance supports dividing the problem into three categories. The official material does not establish which one applies to a particular player, so use the checks in the table to narrow it down.
| Category | What it looks like | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| EA-side service | Errors on every device and network, matching the August symptoms or a current status issue | EA’s live server status page for The Sims 4; wait and retry if a problem is listed |
| Player connectivity and platform | Other sites or apps are slow or failing too, or the error appears only on one device | Platform-specific connection checks, router restart, and retrying on another network if available |
| Local game, mod, or update condition | Problem started after an update, or only after you added mods or custom content | Test the updated game with mods disabled, re-enable mods gradually, and restart the game |
If the Gallery fails on every category after these checks, contact EA Help through the official support channels and describe which error message you see, when it started, and whether mods or an update were involved.

- Gather your Sim’s family to participate in new activities and spend quality time with each other. Sims of all ages can work together to complete a variety of school projects, express their creativity using construction blocks, or volunteer their time for good.
- Customize your Sims’ looks and their home with new family fashion and build items. Give the kids’ bedrooms extra personality, remodel the kitchen to feel homier, and let your Sims express their sporty or artistic sides with new outfits.
Once the server issue is confirmed resolved on EA’s status page, a retry is usually the simplest test. The Gallery’s behavior after a fix is what matters most, so keep the error messages and timestamps in case you need to report a recurrence.
