Complete the Not So Berry Challenge by raising ten heirs in sequence—Mint, Rose, Yellow, Grey, Plum, Orange, Pink, Peach, Green, and Blue—and meeting each heir’s career, aspiration, skill, collection, and story goals. The creator-linked community rules call for a normal lifespan and age-specific planning. This is a player-created challenge, not an official EA challenge.
Before you start: choose a ruleset and set shared rules
The checklist below follows the creator-linked community compilation attributed to lilsimsie and Alwaysimming. The challenge was designed to push players to try parts of the game they had not explored. A separate EA Forums discussion describes a base-game-only adaptation; it is a different version, not a replacement for the fuller checklist. Pack availability can vary, and the available sources do not establish a complete pack-by-pack compatibility list.

Use these shared rules throughout the legacy:
- Keep lifespan set to normal.
- Give each heir a visual touch of that generation’s color through hair, makeup, or clothing. This styling is optional; brightly colored skin is not required.
- Spouses do not need to match a generation’s color unless that generation’s rules say otherwise.
- Live wherever you like unless a generation names a location.
- Complete the heir’s career and aspiration unless that generation explicitly says otherwise.
- Limit money cheats. The rules suggest using the free real estate cheat for the first home, then avoiding further cheats.
Before committing to the fuller rules, check that your game library gives you access to the careers, worlds, lots, and skills they name. If you substitute for an unavailable goal, label your playthrough as an adaptation and decide on the replacement with your household—not as an original rule.

Plan age- and relationship-dependent goals early
The checklist does not prescribe a full order for every task within a generation, so track deadlines and relationship conditions alongside career and skill progress. Rose’s first marriage must wait until elder age. Orange’s apartment requirement covers young adulthood. Pink’s career change happens as an adult. Grey’s three failed relationships come before finding a spouse, while Blue’s marriage and secret affair are both part of the same generation’s story goals. These are planning reminders, not tested gameplay strategies.
#1 Best Overall
- Requires The Sims 4 & all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.
- Develop Parenting Skills – Level up your Sim’s parenting skills to satisfy their child’s needs and influence their behaviors. Gain new abilities through experience and choosing when to discipline bad actions, encourage good behavior, or just let kids be kids.
- Shape Your Sim’s Childhood – The decisions you make influence how your Sim parents and leave a lasting impact on their child’s future. Each choice shapes their personality, affects their traits, influences their family relationships, and guides their path into adulthood.
- Gather your Sim’s family to participate in new activities and spend quality time with each other. Sims of all ages can work together to complete a variety of school projects, express their creativity using construction blocks, or volunteer their time for good.
- Customize your Sims’ looks and their home with new family fashion and build items. Give the kids’ bedrooms extra personality, remodel the kitchen to feel homier, and let your Sims express their sporty or artistic sides with new outfits.
Use game mechanics as support, not as replacement rules
EA’s The Sims 4 skills and traits help page explains that traits and lot traits can affect skill-building, and that completing aspirations can award bonus traits. Those mechanics can support skill goals, but they do not change the challenge checklist.
