This is a historical update, not a description of the latest 2026 patch. EA published the notes on May 27, 2021. The listed versions are:

What could you place beneath bunk beds?
The patch expanded the supported objects that fit beneath a top bunk. EA’s notes list double beds, dressers, desks, living chairs and loveseats. Placement was not unrestricted: some objects could also be placed perpendicular to the top bunk, and dressers, desks and single beds had two possible orientations.

These are the placement options named in the patch notes, rather than a promise that every object or arrangement will fit. If a placement does not work, try another listed object or orientation.
How Likes and Dislikes worked
The update introduced the first Likes and Dislikes categories in the base game: colors, music genres and activities. Set a Sim’s preferences in Create a Sim near the Traits area, or review them in the Sim Info Panel while playing in Live Mode.
How many preferences can a Sim have?
Child Sims and older can have up to 20 Likes and/or Dislikes across the categories. The limit is a game-design cap, not a player statistic. In the May 27 notes, The Sims Team put it this way: “Any Sim, child and older can now have up to 20 Likes and/or Dislikes that can be dispersed individually across the different categories.”
How preferences affect play
Preferences can influence autonomy and mood. Sims generally tend to avoid or minimize activities they dislike and gravitate toward activities they like. Directing a Sim to do a disliked activity can bring tense buffs and contextual complaints; liked activities can provide mood boosts. Listening to music a Sim likes or dislikes can affect them too.

Discovering and changing preferences
Gameplay prompts can let you discover a Sim’s preferences, and the notes say those preferences can be changed later in Create a Sim. New social interactions also let players ask NPC Sims about favorite colors, music tastes and hobbies.

The update added six new hair colors in Create a Sim. EA also listed fixes across the base game and packs, including:
- A console freezing issue linked to turning off the Dust System.
- Career and school attendance during time off or holidays, Sims leaving work early, autonomous cooking and eating leftovers, and Sims staying sad without a visible moodlet.
- Baby skin-tone display and a toddler-related mess issue.
- Error codes 102:eb3376f3:a777e5d8 and 109:812fe7cb:f1565180.
- Pack-specific issues involving a Realm of Magic potion, a Journey to Batuu door, Nifty Knitting Plopsy shipping and a Bust the Dust moodlet balance change.

What to check if you use mods
A game update can disrupt mods or Custom Content that worked before patching. EA says it does not pre-screen, endorse or support specific mods; a mod may need to be fully reinstalled, and its creator is the place to check for compatibility guidance.
