The Sims 4 SpongeBob Kits are polished, unmistakably themed decor and clothing packs—not a movie promotion confirmed by EA, and not gameplay expansions. The SpongeBob’s House Kit and SpongeBob Kids Room Kit make the most sense for fans and builders who want a deliberately silly, character-filled space. If you prefer versatile furniture or new gameplay, their narrow focus is a good reason to pass.
Are the SpongeBob Kits actually a movie tie-in?
EA’s December 2, 2025 launch announcement presents the collaboration but does not say the Kits were commissioned to promote a particular film. Some community members speculated about a movie connection, but that is not confirmation of EA’s intent. “Movie tie-in” is therefore fair as a question about how the crossover feels, not as an established description of its purpose.
The Kits were released on December 4, 2025, for The Sims 4. EA listed the EA app, Origin for Mac, Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The content is build/buy decor, toys, and clothing—not a new world or a substantial gameplay system. EA’s announcement and the Kids Room Kit listing describe what is included.
What do the two Kits include?
SpongeBob’s House Kit
This Kit builds around SpongeBob’s pineapple home and a nautical palette. Its details include themed wall, roof, and floor options, porthole windows, steel hatch details, a diver-helmet TV, a life-raft chair, the “I’m Ready!” bed, a Magic Conch, and a record player. EA also calls out a functional foghorn alarm with sound effects. It is designed for recognizable references and a purpose-built home or venue, rather than a set of neutral furnishings.

- Requires The Sims 4 & all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.
- Build a pineapple home – Siding, roof patterns, spikey leaves, and sand-like floor tiles.
- Nautical décor – Floatie furniture, salvaged ship pieces, and quirky knickknacks.
- Iconic items – SpongeBob’s diver helmet TV and fog horn alarm clock included.
SpongeBob Kids Room Kit
The Kids Room Kit turns a bedroom into a SpongeBob fan space, with a SpongeBob-themed bed, pineapple-inspired desk and storage furniture, a clam-shaped task chair, a Gary clock/light, character decals, a Krusty Krab play set, and SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy plushies. EA’s listing also describes a Krusty Krab dollhouse, a pineapple dresser and bookshelf, and character-themed clothing including a T-shirt, pajamas, and slippers.
How good are they as Sims 4 content?
The core strength is specificity. Both Kits use recognizable characters and objects to make their intended spaces feel like SpongeBob, rather than offering vaguely themed pieces. The Kids Room Kit is especially clear about its purpose; the House Kit offers the stronger opportunity to recreate a whole themed home or nautical build.

![The Sims 4 SpongeBob Kid’s Room Kit - PC EA App [Online Game Code]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41oS8PRc-fL._SL160_.jpg)
- Requires The Sims 4 & all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.
- Cheerful bedroom décor – SpongeBob & Patrick decals, Krusty Krab dollhouse, pineapple furniture.
- Fun furnishings – Dresser, bookshelf, and toys to brighten any kid’s room.
- Cozy fandom fashion – T-shirts, pajamas, and slippers styled after SpongeBob & friends.
That same specificity limits everyday use. In a December 5, 2025 review, Callum Bowyer of Sims Community praised the meshes, textures, and unexpectedly varied swatches, while judging the House Kit too tied to its intellectual property for many ordinary builds. That is one reviewer’s preference, not a universal verdict. Some commenters saw potential in playful or Sulani-inspired builds, while others found the cartoon style out of place. The reasonable expectation is that these pieces will suit themed builds more readily than a neutral, reusable catalogue.

At launch, EA listed each Kit separately for $6.99 and the Bikini Bottom Bundle for $9.99. That bundle included both Kits and three exclusive objects: The Flying Dutchman’s Jungle Gym, Goofy Goober Guitar, and Conch Street Aquarium. EA said the bundle offer ended March 3, 2026. Those are historical launch terms, not a current price or purchase recommendation; current regional pricing, availability, and the later availability of the three objects are not established here. | Question | SpongeBob’s House Kit | SpongeBob Kids Room Kit |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Players building a pineapple home, nautical venue, or other SpongeBob-themed space | Players furnishing a colorful, character-forward child’s bedroom |
| Main appeal | Distinctive home details and recognizable SpongeBob references | Bedroom furniture, toys, decals, and character-themed clothing |
| Main trade-off | Its nautical and franchise-specific style may be difficult to reuse in ordinary builds | Its overtly cartoon, character-led look is not a neutral kids’ room set |
| Launch price, as listed by EA | $6.99 separately | $6.99 separately |
The collaboration drew mixed reactions in public Reddit discussions: some participants liked the aquarium, nostalgia, or the kids’ room, while others objected to the price, branding, or cartoon aesthetic. These comments are examples of individual opinions, not representative evidence of what Sims players overall think.
- Consider them if you like SpongeBob and want a loud, finished theme for a room, home, or playful build.
- Skip them if you mainly buy Kits for understated objects that fit many households, or expect new gameplay rather than decor and clothing.
Overall, these are not content-free cash-ins: the detailed, recognizable objects give fans a coherent way to bring Bikini Bottom into a build. But their best use is also their limitation. For players who do not want a SpongeBob-themed space, the appeal is much harder to justify.
