Чтобы установить моды в The Sims 4, скачайте файл для ПК или Mac, распакуйте ZIP или RAR, если это архив, и поместите файлы в папку Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Затем включите моды в настройках игры и перезапустите её. На PlayStation и Xbox моды недоступны.

На каких платформах работают моды

Официальная инструкция EA описывает установку модов на ПК и Mac. На PlayStation и Xbox пользовательские моды не поддерживаются. Путь к папке с пользовательскими документами может отличаться в зависимости от настроек компьютера; ориентируйтесь на папку Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 в ваших документах. Как скачать и установить мод

1. Выберите мод для The Sims 4. Скачивайте его со страницы автора или из источника, которому доверяете, и прочитайте инструкции автора. EA не проверяет и не одобряет отдельные сторонние моды или пользовательский контент; совместимость и качество конкретного файла компания не гарантирует. Подробнее — в справке EA.
2. Распакуйте архив, если он скачан в ZIP или RAR. В папку игры нужно переместить сами файлы мода, а не архив. Не удаляйте файлы, которые автор указывает как необходимые.
3. Скопируйте файлы в папку Mods. Откройте Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods в пользовательских документах. Если папки Mods нет, создайте её.
4. Включите моды в игре. Запустите The Sims 4 и перейдите в Game Options > Other. Отметьте Enable Custom Content and Mods. Если устанавливаете скриптовый мод, обычно это файл с расширением .ts4script, включите также Script Mods Allowed. Перезапустите игру, чтобы настройки вступили в силу. Особенность скриптовых модов

Файлы .package и скриптовые моды устроены по-разному. Согласно инструкции форума EA, файл скриптового мода нельзя класть глубже одной подпапки внутри Mods. Например, ModsИмяМодафайл.ts4script соответствует этому ограничению, а дополнительный уровень вложенности может помешать игре обнаружить файл. В первую очередь следуйте инструкции автора конкретного мода.

Если мод не появился в игре

• Проверьте, что архив распакован, файлы находятся в папке Mods, а нужные переключатели включены. После изменения настроек перезапустите игру.
• Убедитесь, что скачали мод именно для The Sims 4 и что его файлы размещены с учётом ограничений на глубину папок, если это скриптовый мод.
• После обновления игры моды могут отключиться, а ранее работавшие файлы — стать несовместимыми. Проверьте страницу автора на информацию о совместимости или новой версии, затем включите моды в настройках и перезапустите игру.
• Если игра показывает ошибки, проверяйте моды по одному или небольшими группами, каждый раз запуская игру. EA предлагает метод деления списка пополам: удаляйте или отключайте часть модов, чтобы быстрее определить проблемный файл. Перед крупными изменениями скопируйте папки Saves и Mods в безопасное место. • После изменения файлов модов форум EA советует удалить localthumbcache.package из папки The Sims 4. Это дополнительный совет с форума, а не обязательный этап базовой установки. Инструкция на форуме EA.

Что делать после обновления игры

1. Скопируйте папки Saves и Mods в безопасное место до обновления.
2. Если после патча моды отключены, запустите игру без них и проверьте, что базовая игра работает. Выйдите без сохранения.
3. Проверьте у авторов модов, совместимы ли файлы с актуальным обновлением, и замените устаревшие версии, если доступны новые.
4. Включите моды в Game Options > Other и перезапустите игру.
