Spoilers for “Get Junior” and the later Act III quest “Payback.” Killing or sparing Whoreson Junior changes what Geralt finds when he encounters the criminal later, but the main-story outcome is otherwise similar. Kill him and Dudu is impersonating him, having taken over his operation and turned it into legitimate businesses; spare him and Junior is a destitute beggar in Novigrad. The Get Junior walkthrough reports the same 500 XP reward either way.
When does the choice happen?
“Get Junior” follows “Broken Flowers” in Novigrad’s main-quest sequence. Priscilla connects Geralt’s search for Dandelion to Whoreson Junior, bringing “Broken Flowers” to a close and starting “Get Junior.” Near the end of the quest, after Geralt learns about Junior’s encounter with Ciri through the playable flashback “Ciri’s Story: Visiting Junior,” he must decide whether to kill or spare him. Gamer Guides’ “Broken Flowers” walkthrough and “Get Junior” walkthrough describe the sequence.
What changes if you kill or spare Junior?
| Choice | Later outcome in “Payback” | Immediate quest reward |
|---|---|---|
| Kill Junior | Ciri leads Geralt to the person believed to be Junior, but it is Dudu in disguise. Dudu has taken over the criminal operation and made it legitimate. | 500 XP, according to the Gamer Guides walkthrough. |
| Spare Junior | Geralt later finds Junior as a street beggar in Novigrad, harassed by children. | 500 XP, according to the Gamer Guides walkthrough. |
The later meeting is the meaningful narrative difference. The walkthrough also notes one limited gameplay distinction: killing Junior allows Geralt to use Axii on some guards during the later encounter. That does not establish a broad combat or quest advantage beyond those guards. For the later scenes, see Prima Games’ “Payback” guide.
Does this choice affect the ending, quests, or trophies?
The available walkthrough describes the decision as having little effect on the larger plot beyond the changed later encounter. It does not support treating either option as a route to a different main-game ending. It also does not establish whether killing Junior voids a trophy or achievement, or guarantee that sparing him completes every possible objective. If those specific outcomes matter to your run, the cited quest walkthroughs do not settle them.

Could “Gangs of Novigrad” fail during this quest?
There is a timing interaction with Cleaver’s side quest, “Gangs of Novigrad.” Prima’s guide says that, on the hideout route it describes, the quest can fail at a specified stage if Geralt has not spoken to Cleaver or helped him attack Junior’s men earlier. This is a route-specific caution, not evidence that the side quest always fails during “Get Junior.” If you want to preserve that storyline, resolve Cleaver’s involvement before advancing to the relevant hideout stage. Prima Games’ guide to the hideout sequence covers the timing described.

- Kill Junior if you want to see Dudu assume control of the operation and prefer the limited Axii option with some guards later.
- Spare Junior if you would rather leave him alive to face public degradation as a beggar.
Neither option is shown by the cited guides to change the main-game ending, and the reported quest XP is identical.
