For the Novigrad main story, play Pyres of Novigrad → Novigrad Dreaming → Broken Flowers → Get Junior. During Get Junior, ask Dijkstra about Dandelion to start Count Reuven’s Treasure. Before you push Get Junior forward, finish The Gangs of Novigrad if you want to keep that side quest available.

Broken Flowers and an optional side quest
Broken Flowers unlocks Get Junior. During it, you can also receive an opportunity to start Fencing Lessons; accept the offer if you want to pursue that side quest.
Get Junior and Count Reuven’s Treasure
Start Get Junior at the bathhouse. After the opening encounter, speak with Dijkstra and ask about Dandelion; this starts Count Reuven’s Treasure. You do not need to finish that quest before beginning Get Junior: the two main-quest strands both feed into The Play’s the Thing.

Some guides recommend level 12 for both quests, but those are suggested levels, not mandatory game requirements. The larger Act 1 route is not strictly linear: Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige storylines can overlap, so this order is a safe sequence for the Novigrad plot rather than a requirement to finish every region in turn.
How to avoid failing The Gangs of Novigrad
The Gangs of Novigrad is the main side-quest cutoff to watch during this stretch. Prima’s walkthrough describes an opportunity to continue it after the Temple Isle investigation, then warns that advancing beyond that point makes the side quest impossible to complete. If you want to finish it, do so before progressing past that stage of Get Junior.

Other references associate this part of the story with Honor Among Thieves, An Eye for an Eye, Fencing Lessons, and A Matter of Life and Death. Treat those names as reminders to check your quest log, not as a definitive cutoff list: exact quest-state exceptions for every game version are not established by the available references. Complete any linked side content you care about before finishing Get Junior.

During Geralt’s investigation, the main quest pauses for Ciri’s Story: Visiting Junior. Play that section, then return to Geralt’s Get Junior quest.

Choices that affect your route
At the casino
Prima’s guide recommends a peaceful approach at the casino and advises against hostile dialogue about Whoreson Junior there, saying that hostile choices lead to a larger fight. This is a route and combat preference, not a requirement for completing the quest.
Whoreson Junior’s fate
Later, you can choose whether to spare or kill Whoreson Junior. The choice matters to a subsequent quest, but the available guide does not fully document every consequence, so there is no supported basis here for calling either option objectively best.
