What the $44.99 deal included
The offer covered the standard Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black, with a USB-C cable in the bundle—not an Elite Series 2. The March 25 deal report described the price as about 31% below its stated $64.99 reference price and said it was Amazon’s lowest price in 90 days at the time. Amazon’s announcement said its 2026 Big Spring Sale ran through March 31. It does not establish whether this individual controller listing stayed at $44.99 until the event ended or sold out earlier. What the controller does—and what the cable does not do
Microsoft’s standard controller has a hybrid D-pad, a dedicated Share button, textured grip on the triggers, bumpers, and rear case, and a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. The included USB-C cable can provide a wired connection for supported play. It does not recharge the AA batteries. Who should buy this controller when a similar deal returns?
Good fit
- Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One owners who need a spare or replacement controller.
- PC players who want Xbox-style button prompts and have Bluetooth, a compatible Xbox Wireless Adapter, or a suitable USB connection.
- Mobile or cloud-gaming players whose device supports Bluetooth controller input.
- Families looking for a conventional controller without paying for premium controls.
Look elsewhere if

- You want a rechargeable battery included in the box. The USB-C cable alone does not make AA batteries rechargeable.
- Your PC lacks Bluetooth and you do not want to play wired or use an Xbox Wireless Adapter.
- You need a native PlayStation or Nintendo Switch controller; this Xbox model is not a native controller for those systems.
- You are shopping now specifically for the March $44.99 price. That sale has ended, and this historical offer does not confirm today’s price or availability.
What to check on a future listing
Color variants and bundles can have different prices or accessories. Before ordering during a later promotion, verify the exact product and checkout details rather than relying on an old deal headline.
- Open the retailer listing and confirm it identifies the Xbox Wireless Controller bundle with a USB-C cable if you want the cable.
- Check that Carbon Black—or your preferred color—is selected, then verify the price on the product page and again in the cart.
- Review the seller and fulfillment details. Confirm the condition is New rather than used, renewed, or an Amazon Warehouse listing.
- Check delivery timing and the return terms before placing the order; price and stock can change.
- If you plan to add Microsoft’s rechargeable battery pack, confirm the controller has a USB-C port. Do not assume the bundle cable charges AA batteries.
- For PC wireless play, check whether your computer has Bluetooth or whether you will need a compatible Xbox Wireless Adapter.
